Outdoor TV installation · Kansas City.

An indoor TV on a Kansas City patio is a two-season purchase. IntegrateIT installs weatherproof outdoor TVs across the Kansas City metro from Overland Park, Kansas: Samsung Terrace, SunBriteTV, Furrion and Séura displays rated for full shade through full sun, wired for the weather and integrated with Coastal Source outdoor audio, Lutron landscape lighting and your Control4, Crestron or Sonos system. Call (913) 804-7575.

What’s different about how we install outdoor TVs

  • Right rating for the spot. The three ratings differ several times over in brightness and in cost. Spec it wrong and you get a screen that washes out at 2pm, or a full-sun display mounted under a porch eave that never needed it. We walk the site at your viewing time of day.
  • Audio and lighting on the same scene. A TV on its own is a screen outside. A TV with Coastal Source bollard audio and a Lutron landscape scene that answers to “Game Day” is the outdoor room worth building.
  • Rated electrical and low-voltage. A dedicated 20-amp outdoor circuit, GFCI-protected, with a rated outdoor outlet behind the TV mount. Cat6A and HDMI conduit run for IP control and the 4K source. UV-stable conduit and direct-burial cable where the run goes underground.
  • Mounting designed for the season. Articulating mounts rated for outdoor service. Most indoor mounts seize after a couple of Kansas City freeze-thaw cycles; we use Chief outdoor-rated and SunBriteTV-spec hardware, so the TV still pivots cleanly years later.

Common questions

How much does outdoor TV installation cost in Kansas City?

It depends on where the TV lives — shade, partial sun or full sun changes the display — how many audio zones join it, and the wiring path from the house. A single covered-porch TV and a property with a pool deck, an outdoor kitchen and a cabana are different projects. A no-cost site walk produces a fixed price, not a range by email.

Why a weatherproof outdoor TV instead of just putting an indoor TV outside?

An indoor TV on a Kansas City patio is a season-or-two purchase. Three failure modes do it. Heat: direct sun pushes the panel past its rated operating temperature, which shows up as dark patches and burn-in. Cold: a hard freeze cracks the liquid crystals, and a Kansas City winter night gets there easily. Moisture: humidity works its way behind the bezel and corrodes the backlight inverter. Weatherproof outdoor TVs — Samsung Terrace, SunBriteTV Pro and Veranda, Furrion Aurora, Séura Shade Series — are sealed and rated for direct outdoor mounting. They cost more than an equivalent indoor set and they last outside.

Full-shade vs partial-sun vs full-sun TVs — which do I need?

Tied to where the TV will live and when you’ll use it. Full-shade displays are right for covered porches and outdoor rooms with a full overhang, where sun never reaches the screen. Partial-sun displays are right for patios where the sun hits the screen an hour or three a day. Full-sun displays, at several times the brightness, are right for pool decks, open patios and cabanas, where the screen is in direct sun for much of the afternoon. We spec by walking the site at the time of day you’ll watch most.

Can the outdoor TV integrate with my Control4 / Crestron / Sonos system?

Yes — an outdoor TV is another video zone in the whole-home system. The TV, the outdoor speakers and the landscape lighting all trigger from your existing touch panel or phone. Press “Game Day” and the TV powers on to the game, the outdoor speakers come up, and the patio lights warm. We control outdoor displays over IP where the display supports it, and over IR where it does not; Control4 and Crestron handle both natively.

How do you handle cable routing and outlets for outdoor TVs?

Three patterns. New construction: low-voltage rough-in during framing, a dedicated 20-amp outdoor circuit, Cat6A and HDMI conduit run inside the wall, and a waterproof recessed outlet behind the TV mount. Retrofit on a covered patio: usually through-the-wall from the interior, terminating at a rated recessed outlet. Standalone structure such as a pergola or cabana: low-voltage and power conduit run underground from the main house, terminating at a rated outdoor breaker panel and a low-voltage termination box at the structure. Cabling is rated for direct burial where it needs to be, in UV-stable conduit.
