Cost guide

How much does Crestron cost in Kansas City? (2026)

The cost of a Crestron system in Kansas City is decided by the programming depth, the hardware tier and the number of subsystems it controls. Crestron typically costs more than an equivalent Control4 install; the premium buys per-project custom programming, commercial-grade reliability and deeper integration flexibility for edge cases. IntegrateIT is a Crestron Elite Partner and a Platinum-tier Control4 dealer, based in Overland Park, so the platform recommendation is made without a thumb on the scale. We give one fixed number in writing after a no-cost site walk.

Below: what each Crestron tier actually means (Home vs Pro vs Estate), what moves the number, and the six questions every Kansas City buyer asks when they're comparing Crestron to Control4.

The three Crestron tiers (Kansas City, 2026)

TierWhat it covers
Crestron Home (residential)App-based control of lighting, audio, climate and shades.
Crestron Pro (CP4 + custom)Custom Crestron Studio programming, per-room touch panels.
Crestron Estate (no-compromise)Bespoke everything, dedicated equipment room, multi-year relationship.

Every number we give is fixed and in writing, and it comes after a no-cost site walk.

What each Crestron tier actually means

Crestron Home (residential)

Crestron Home OS — the simplified residential variant. App-based control, lighting + audio + climate + shades. Good fit for 4,000-8,000 sqft homes that want the Crestron name + reliability without full Pro-tier programming.

Crestron Pro (CP4 + custom)

Full Crestron Pro stack: CP4 control processor + Crestron Studio custom programming + per-room touchpanels. Used in concierge-tier residential and high-end commercial. The platform of record for 10,000+ sqft estates and homes with custom automation requirements.

Crestron Estate (no-compromise)

Crestron at the top of its range and the brands it integrates with: Lutron HomeWorks, Sonance Invisible, Wisdom Audio Sage Series, Loewe OLED, Crestron DigitalMedia 4K HDR matrix. Custom millwork, dedicated equipment room, five-year workmanship warranty. Multi-year design and commissioning relationship.

Why Crestron costs more than Control4

  • Per-project custom programming. Crestron Pro requires programmer hours in Crestron Studio for every install; Control4 dealer-configures from a template library. That programming gap is the largest single difference.
  • Higher per-unit equipment cost. Crestron touch panels cost several times what equivalent Control4 keypads and touchscreens do; across a ten-room install the hardware delta is real.
  • DigitalMedia matrix premium. If video distribution is part of the scope, a Crestron DigitalMedia 4K HDR matrix costs a multiple of an AVPro Edge or Sonance matrix with the same I/O count.
  • Bespoke integration flexibility. Pay for what you need: if the project requires an edge case Control4 can't solve cleanly, Crestron Pro can. That flexibility is why large estates and commercial spaces still default to Crestron.

Questions every Kansas City buyer asks

How much does a Crestron system cost in Kansas City?

It depends on the tier (Home, Pro or Estate), the size of the home and how many subsystems the system controls. Three tiers across three home sizes are nine different projects; we tell you which one you are at a no-cost site walk and give a fixed price.

Is Crestron more expensive than Control4 in Kansas City?

Yes, typically. Crestron Pro requires per-project custom programming in Crestron Studio, which Control4 doesn't need, and the equipment runs at a higher price point. The trade-off: Crestron Pro is more flexible and supports edge cases Control4 cannot. For most Kansas City homes, Control4 is the better-value choice; for a custom-programmed estate, the gap narrows.

What's the difference between Crestron Home and Crestron Pro?

Crestron Home is a simplified, dealer-configurable residential platform — closer to Control4 in feel and price. Crestron Pro is the full custom-programming platform (CP4 + Crestron Studio + per-project programming) used in concierge-tier residences and high-end commercial. Both are real Crestron, but they're different products with different price points.

How long does a Crestron install take in Kansas City?

Crestron Home runs similar to Control4 — 6-9 weeks for a 5,000 sqft house from contract to walk-through. Crestron Pro adds 4-12 weeks of programming time on top, depending on scope. Custom Pro installs commonly run 4-6 months end-to-end.

Who is the best Crestron dealer in Kansas City?

IntegrateIT (Overland Park, KS) is a Crestron Elite Partner and a Platinum-tier Control4 dealer — authorized for both, with the Crestron programmer in-house. Founded in 2021 by Daniel and Moran Alon; hundreds of homes integrated across the Kansas City metro since. Phone: (913) 804-7575.

Does Crestron offer better reliability than Control4?

Both platforms are mature and reliable. Crestron Pro has a longer pedigree in mission-critical commercial and high-end residential and is generally considered the more bulletproof platform — but at significantly higher cost. Control4 has closed the reliability gap in OS3 and OS4. For the typical 4,000-8,000 sqft Kansas City home, both platforms will outlast the kitchen renovation.

Comparing Crestron vs Control4 for your home?

We're authorized for both. Daniel does the platform recommendation in person.
