JBL speakers & soundbars · Kansas City.

IntegrateIT carries and installs JBL across the Kansas City metro — the in-ceiling and in-wall speakers that put music through a new build, the Bar soundbar under a family-room television, JBL Cove for rooms that were never wired, and JBL Professional’s installed sound in a restaurant or an office. One precision first, because the trade is sloppy about this word: JBL is a line we carry and install under distribution, not one we hold our own dealer agreement on, so we do not call ourselves an authorized JBL dealer. What we are is the people who lay out the rooms, run the wire at framing, mount and aim the speakers and tie them into the control system. Phone: (913) 804-7575 or office@integrateit.tech.

What we carry and install from JBL

The families below are the ones on JBL’s own site today, with JBL’s own channel counts and driver sizes. JBL Synthesis, the theater line, has its own page. We specify, install and commission to order.

  • JBL Stage architectural speakers. The Stage 260CSA 6.5-inch angled in-ceiling, the Stage 280C 8-inch in-ceiling, the Stage 260CDT 6.5-inch dual-tweeter in-ceiling, the Stage 280CSA 8-inch angled in-ceiling and the Stage 280W dual 5.25-inch in-wall — the two-way speakers we put through a house at framing for whole-house audio. The angled and dual-tweeter models are how a ceiling speaker aims at the seating instead of straight down.
  • JBL Studio 6 in-wall. The Studio 88LCR, a dual 8-inch two-way in-wall loudspeaker sized for the left, centre and right of a media room where the speakers have to disappear into the wall.
  • The Bar soundbars. Bar 300MK2 (5.0, all-in-one), Bar 500MK2 (5.1), Bar 700MK2 (7.1, detachable surround speakers), Bar 1000MK2 (7.1.4) and Bar 1300XMK2 (11.1.4), the last two with Dolby Atmos height channels and DTS:X, all with JBL’s MultiBeam 3.0; plus the Bar 2.1 Deep Bass MK2 with its wireless subwoofer and the compact Bar 2.0 All-in-one MK2. The practical answer for a television that is not in a dedicated room, mounted with the set as part of TV mounting.
  • JBL Cove. JBL’s Wi-Fi home speakers — the Cove P1, a portable speaker with Dolby Atmos, and the Cove X1, the room-filling one — which JBL presents as easy whole-home listening. For a finished house with no speaker wire in the walls, this is the honest way to get music into more rooms.
  • The home-theater speaker bundles. JBL packages bookshelf speakers, towers, a centre channel, height speakers, a subwoofer and an AV receiver as 2.1, 5.1, 5.1.2 and 5.1.4 systems. They are a sensible media-room package where a dedicated theater is not the plan; the receiver still gets calibrated in the room and put under the control system like any other.
  • JBL Spinner BT. A Bluetooth turntable, for a listening corner that wants records without a separate phono stage.
  • JBL Professional installed sound. The Control series ceiling and surface-mount loudspeakers for background and foreground music (the Control 24CT-BK is a current compact ceiling model), the AW Series all-weather loudspeakers, the AE Series and the PD700 and PD6000 point-source loudspeakers for rooms that need output, the CSA Series power amplifiers for commercial and installed sound, and the HiQnet Audio Architect software that configures a networked system. This is the hardware behind our restaurant audio and commercial AV work when JBL is the right line for the room.

How we put JBL into a house or a business

  • Zones on the floor plan first. Which rooms get speakers, where the seating is, where the ceiling can take a cut-out and where it cannot — decided on the plan before a speaker is chosen, and wired at framing on a new build.
  • The right model for the ceiling. An angled or dual-tweeter in-ceiling model where the speaker cannot sit over the listener; a dual-woofer in-wall where a media room wants a left, centre and right that vanish. The catalogue has a model for each case; the job is matching them.
  • Amplification and control. Architectural speakers are driven from the rack and the volume lives on the control system’s app and keypads, so a guest does not have to find a JBL app to turn the kitchen down.
  • Soundbars mounted, not propped. The bar goes on the wall with the television, the subwoofer finds the corner that works, and one remote runs the set and the sound.
  • Commercial zones balanced and documented. On a JBL Professional job the loudspeakers are aimed, each zone is set to the level the room needs, and the settings and the cable plan land in your portal.

Where JBL sits beside the other lines we carry

For a dedicated theater the conversation moves to JBL Synthesis, the same company’s theater line. For architectural speakers through a house we also carry Triad and Episode, and the choice usually comes down to the ceiling construction and the finish. Where a house wants streaming in every room without a rack, we are an authorized Sonos dealer. The Cove speakers sit beside Sonos as the unwired option. On the commercial side, JBL Professional is weighed against QSC and 1 SOUND on what the room asks for and how the owner wants to run it.

Common questions

Who installs JBL speakers and soundbars in Kansas City?

IntegrateIT (Overland Park, KS) carries and installs JBL across the Kansas City metro, on both sides of the state line — in-ceiling and in-wall speakers through a new build in Leawood or Prairie Village, a Bar soundbar under a family-room television, JBL Cove speakers for music through the house, and JBL Professional installed sound in a restaurant or an office. To be precise about the relationship, because the trade is sloppy about this word: JBL is a line we carry and install under distribution, not one we hold our own dealer agreement on, so we do not call ourselves an authorized JBL dealer. What we are is the people who lay out the rooms, run the wire at framing, install the speakers and tie them into the control system.

Is JBL the same as JBL Synthesis?

No, and the difference decides which page you want. Both are Harman brands. JBL Synthesis is the luxury theater line — the reference loudspeakers and electronics behind a dedicated room — and it has its own page here. JBL, on this page, is everything else JBL makes for a home or a business: the Stage and Studio 6 architectural speakers, the Bar soundbars, JBL Cove, the home-theater speaker bundles and JBL Professional’s installed-sound loudspeakers and amplifiers. We carry and install both lines; a dedicated theater is a JBL Synthesis conversation, and the rest of the house is this one.

Which JBL soundbar fits which room?

Channel count and the room decide it. JBL’s current Bar series runs from the Bar 300MK2, a 5.0-channel all-in-one with no separate subwoofer, through the Bar 500MK2 (5.1) and the Bar 700MK2 (7.1, with detachable surround speakers), to the Bar 1000MK2 (7.1.4) and the Bar 1300XMK2 (11.1.4), the two with Dolby Atmos height channels and DTS:X. A bedroom television wants the compact bar; a family room where people sit to one side wants the detachable surrounds placed behind the sofa; a media room that wants real height effects wants the 1000MK2 or the 1300XMK2. The bar is mounted or shelved with the television, the subwoofer finds its corner, and the whole thing turns on with the TV from one remote.

Can JBL play music through the whole house?

Two ways. JBL Cove is JBL’s Wi-Fi home speaker family — the Cove P1 portable and the Cove X1 room-filling speaker, both with Dolby Atmos, which JBL describes as easy whole-home listening — and it suits rooms that were never wired for speakers. The other way is the one a whole-house audio system is usually built on: JBL Stage and Studio 6 in-ceiling and in-wall speakers, wired at framing to a rack of amplification, with the streaming and the room-by-room volume on the control system’s app and keypads. The first is a speaker you unbox; the second is a system we design.

Do you use JBL in commercial spaces?

Yes. JBL Professional’s installed-sound range is what a restaurant, a bar, a gym or an office ceiling actually needs: the Control series ceiling and surface-mount loudspeakers for background and foreground music, the AW Series all-weather loudspeakers for a patio, the AE Series and PD Series point-source loudspeakers where a room needs real output, and the CSA Series power amplifiers built for commercial and installed sound. We lay the zones out against the floor plan, run the cable, mount and aim the loudspeakers, and set the amplifiers and processing so the manager has one volume control per zone and nothing to learn.

What happens after the install?

Every zone is balanced in the room with the furniture in, the settings and the wiring are recorded in your portal, and the control system is programmed so the music and the television come on the same way every time. Every install carries our five-year workmanship warranty from the final invoice.
