Restaurant audio · Kansas City.
A dining room that sounds right at 7pm and at 10pm without anyone touching a knob. IntegrateIT installs Q-SYS-based restaurant audio across the Kansas City metro from Overland Park, Kansas: zone-coverage design, acoustic treatment, and one-touch presets from soundcheck through service to wind-down that take the sound off your manager’s list. Call (913) 804-7575.
What’s different about how we install restaurant audio
- Q-SYS as the backbone. Each zone tuned separately — main dining, bar, patio. EQ, zone volumes and sources move together on one button, by day-part.
- Acoustic treatment, not just speakers. A great speaker system in a glass-walled room still sounds like a cafeteria. We design treatment alongside the audio.
- DJ input and live-music routing. An XLR drop at the bar or DJ booth, with override logic, so the system carries background music, a DJ and live music without rewiring.
- Scheduled around your buildout. Rough-in during framing, finish install before opening, a punch and tuning week built in. Retrofits in operating restaurants happen overnight or on Sunday and Monday close-days.
Common questions
How much does a restaurant audio system cost in Kansas City?
It depends on seats and zones, whether the room needs acoustic treatment, and how much control the staff need at the bar. A single dining room and a concept with a bar, a patio, private dining and live-music nights are different projects. A walk-through during service produces a fixed bid, not a range by email.
Why Q-SYS instead of a regular commercial amp and EQ rack?
Q-SYS lets us tune each zone separately: main dining, bar and patio each get the frequency response their geometry, crowd-noise floor and speaker placement call for. An operator hits one button on the panel — Soundcheck, Dinner Service, Late Night — and zone volumes, EQ and sources move together. An amp-and-EQ rack needs a manager turning knobs every shift; Q-SYS takes that off the list and keeps the room consistent across staff turnover.
Do you handle the acoustic-treatment side of restaurant design?
Yes. When a room lands with a hard floor, a bare ceiling and glass walls, no audio system can fix the echo and the crowd noise compounding on top of it. We design the acoustic treatment — ceiling panels, wall baffles, sound-absorbing wall-art frames — alongside the audio install, so the room sounds the way a dining room should: conversational clarity, music present without volume creep, nobody shouting by nine. We coordinate with your interior designer and architect so the treatment disappears into the design.
Can the audio system handle live music and DJ nights?
Yes — every install ships with a DJ-input override, an XLR or quarter-inch jack at the bar or DJ booth that takes control from the background source when it is live. Q-SYS handles the routing, the limiting and the zone-priority logic. For venues built around live music we add subwoofer reinforcement, on-stage monitor wedges and front-of-house mix-position networking, on the same DSP backbone.
How long does a restaurant audio install take in Kansas City?
Tied to your buildout schedule. A single dining room is five to ten days of on-site work, sequenced with the GC — rough-in during framing, finish install before opening. A full-service concept runs three to five weeks across several GC phases. We schedule around your hard opening date with a punch-list and tuning week built in. For retrofits in operating restaurants we work overnight or on Sunday and Monday close-days.
