New construction low-voltage · Kansas City.
One trade for every low-voltage system in the house, from rough-in to the punch-list signature. IntegrateIT, based in Overland Park, Kansas, is the single low-voltage trade for custom builders across Kansas City, Missouri and Johnson County, Kansas: alarm, cameras, structured wiring, AV pre-wire, Cat6A, fiber and the Lutron lighting feed under one contract. One PO, one COI, one punch-list signature, one warranty department. One trade on the schedule instead of three is fewer hand-offs and fewer callbacks than the multi-vendor pattern most Kansas City builds use. Call (913) 804-7575.
What’s different about how we run a low-voltage trade
- One trade, every system. Alarm, cameras, structured wiring, AV pre-wire, Cat6A, fiber and the Lutron feed, all under one trade contract. Most Kansas City builds split these across three or four vendors; we consolidate.
- The alarm stays in-house. We permit, install and certify the alarm ourselves. No second-vendor handoff to Vivint or Brinks, and no gap in the warranty where two trades meet.
- Universal pre-wire design. If the homeowner picks a different integrator at finish, the pre-wire still works: Cat6A, conduit, back-cans, a structured-wiring panel and room-by-room termination that any reputable AV shop can pick up.
- Insured the way builders require. General liability, auto, umbrella and Workers Comp, with the builder named as an additional insured on the project COI and the certificate in your office before the crew reaches the site.
Common questions
How much does low-voltage pre-wire cost on a new luxury home in Kansas City?
It depends on square footage and the number of drops, which systems are roughed in — alarm, AV, lighting feed, shades, surveillance — and how the work phases across framing and finish. A single house and a compound with a pool house and a barn are different jobs. Builders get a fixed-price package measured from the plan set, against a written scope of work, not a range by email.
When in the build schedule should low-voltage rough-in happen?
After framing inspection and after MEP rough-in — mechanical, electrical, plumbing — but before insulation and drywall. The window is typically five to twelve days of on-site work depending on home size. We coordinate the schedule with your superintendent and show up the day after MEP signoff. The GC gets a written ready-for-LV checklist first: chases drilled, blocking placed for camera and access-point locations, MEP conflicts resolved, so the trade lands clean instead of bouncing on framing punch.
Do you handle the alarm and permit too, or just the rough wiring?
Both. We permit, install and certify the alarm ourselves, with no second-vendor handoff to Vivint or Brinks. The same trade runs the alarm wiring, the cameras, the structured wiring, the lighting feed and the AV pre-wire. One PO from the GC, one COI on the project, one punch-list signature at trim-out, one warranty department for the homeowner. One trade on the schedule instead of three is fewer hand-offs and fewer callbacks than the multi-vendor pattern most Kansas City builds use.
Do I have to commit to your AV install at proposal time, or can the homeowner pick their integrator later?
Either model works. Some builder projects roll forward into our AV install at trim; others are pre-wire only, and the homeowner brings in a different integrator for the equipment side. We design the pre-wire to be universal — Cat6A, conduit, back-cans, a structured-wiring panel and room-by-room termination — so any reputable integrator can pick it up. The labor rate is the same either way.
What COI and registrations do you carry?
General liability, auto, umbrella and Workers Comp, at limits that meet what Kansas City custom builders ask for, plus Kansas and Missouri low-voltage tax registrations. We add the GC as an additional insured on the project COI as soon as the contract is signed, with name-the-builder language, and the certificate reaches your office before the crew reaches the site. Ask and we will send the current certificate.
