Service Plans + Ongoing Support · Kansas City.

Every IntegrateIT install carries a five-year workmanship warranty, and there is no mandatory monthly fee to own the system afterward. The equipment carries its manufacturer warranty on top of that, and you have our support for as long as you own the system. On-site training and full owner’s documentation come with the job rather than as an upsell. Two things are genuinely recurring and both are optional: alarm monitoring, and a network managed-service contract, each priced against its own scope. Phone: (913) 804-7575 or office@integrateit.tech.

What every install includes, at no extra charge

Most of what people mean by “a service plan” we simply include, because a system that needs a paid subscription to keep working was not finished properly. Four things come with every job:

  • A five-year workmanship warranty. The wiring, the terminations, the mounting, the rack build, the programming we wrote — five years, on every install. The equipment carries its manufacturer warranty separately; we file those claims for you. That split is the honest one: we stand behind our hands, the manufacturer stands behind its hardware.
  • Support for as long as you own the system. Not five years, not the length of a contract. When you call four years after handover because a scene stopped making sense, we answer.
  • On-site training and full owner’s documentation. Step four of our process is Tune — calibration, on-site training, documentation handed over as a deliverable. Somebody sits with the whole household, including the people who never attended a design meeting, and walks the keypads, the app, the scenes and the failure modes.
  • Proactive monitoring. Where a system is monitored we usually see the fault before you report it. On networks that means 24×7 remote monitoring with quarterly health-check reports — a system that opens its own ticket.

None of that is subscription-gated. The one thing worth saying plainly, because nobody asks and it is the term we are proudest of: five years of workmanship coverage is longer than most. Ask anyone you are comparing us against for theirs, in writing. The whole-home automation page carries the same terms, because they are the terms — not a package.

What monitoring includes

Two things are genuinely recurring, and we would rather publish that plainly than make you ask. They cover different things and are priced separately.

Alarm monitoring is priced against the alarm device count and the dispatch service selected, as its own annual service separate from the installed hardware. That is trained operators verifying events and dispatching police, fire or EMS across intrusion, fire, CO and medical — with video verification, app arm and disarm, and Crash & Smash protection so the system keeps reporting even if the panel is destroyed during a break-in. Full scope on the 24/7 monitoring page.

Network managed service is a separate contract, and it is worth being precise: these are network tiers, not a whole-system plan. They come from our Kansas City networking cost guide, and they cover the network layer:

  • Foundational. Included in the five-year workmanship warranty. UniFi firmware updates plus next-day response on outages.
  • Whole-house. Adds 24/7 network monitoring with proactive alerts before you notice an outage, quarterly health reviews, and priority dispatch.
  • Estate. Adds dedicated monitoring, multi-WAN failover testing, monthly written reports, and an on-call programmer for after-hours changes.

If someone quotes you a single monthly figure that supposedly covers a whole smart home, ask what is actually inside it. Ours are scoped to the layer they protect, and the network is the layer that fails most and takes everything else with it — which is why that is the layer we monitor.

What happens when something breaks

You call (913) 804-7575. From there the triage is ours, not yours — the point of a single integrator is that you never have to work out whose problem it is. A fault lands in one of four buckets: workmanship, which is our five-year warranty; hardware, which is a manufacturer claim we file on your behalf; programming, which is a change we make; or something outside the system entirely — an ISP outage, a utility event, a third-party device somebody else added. The diagnosis is the part that most often solves it.

Scope changes are quoted before we start, the same way the original proposal was fixed-price: written pricing for equipment, labor and timeline, no time-and-materials surprises. One case is priced hourly rather than fixed, and it is deliberately narrow — Crestron programming, quoted in writing before any work starts, which is what applies when we take on an orphaned Crestron system installed by a dealer who left the trade. That is a Crestron programming rate, not a general shop rate, and we will not pretend otherwise.

Systems we did not install are welcome. Being a Platinum-tier Control4 dealer, a Lutron Certified Installer and a Crestron Elite Partner is precisely what makes a takeover possible — the credential is what lets us hold the project file instead of guessing at somebody else’s programming. The route in is a system takeover for a whole house, or a targeted repair — Control4 or Lutron — when one layer is the problem. There is no published minimum project size, and small service work is real work: we would rather fix one room properly than decline it.

Two homes, one integrator

A second property usually means a second integrator, a second app, a second set of habits, and a phone call to the wrong state every time something goes wrong. It does not have to. Our primary service area is the Kansas City metro and the communities around it; our secondary market is South Florida — Boca Raton, Palm Beach, Miami, Fort Lauderdale, Hollywood, Plantation, Aventura and West Palm Beach — for concierge projects on scheduled trips. The Boca Raton work is specifically estate-scale new construction with dual-coast Control4 setups synchronized to the owner’s Overland Park property.

What that buys in practice is consistency: the same keypad language on both walls, the same app with both houses in it, the same person who knows why a scene was programmed the way it was. Beyond our two service areas we would rather refer you into the CEDIA network than pretend a plane ticket is a service plan.

Questions owners ask before they sign

Do Kansas City smart home installers charge monthly fees, and what does ongoing support actually cost after the install?

At IntegrateIT there is no mandatory monthly fee to own a system we built. Every install carries a five-year workmanship warranty, and you have our support for as long as you own the system, at no additional charge — the equipment carries its own manufacturer warranty on top of that. Two things are genuinely recurring and both are optional: professional alarm monitoring, and a network managed-service contract, whose tiers scale from a foundational level included in the workmanship warranty up to dedicated monitoring for estate-scale, multi-WAN properties. Everything else is per-visit and scoped after we look at it.

Do Kansas City AV integrators warranty their own workmanship, and for how long?

IntegrateIT warranties its workmanship for five years on every install — the wiring, the terminations, the mounting, the rack build, and the programming we wrote. The equipment carries its manufacturer warranty separately, which is the honest split: we stand behind our work, and Lutron, Control4, Crestron, Sonance and the rest stand behind their hardware.

What is covered by the manufacturer instead of by you?

The hardware itself. If a processor, an amplifier, a display, a shade drive or a keypad fails inside its manufacturer term, that is a warranty claim against the manufacturer, and we file and chase the claim on your behalf rather than handing you a support number. Terms vary by brand, and we will tell you what yours are in writing at handover. What our five-year workmanship warranty covers is everything about the install that is ours rather than theirs — the wiring, the terminations, the mounting, the rack build, the programming.

Will the installer actually teach my family how to use the system, and what happens when we forget?

Training is a named step in our process, not a favor at the end. Step four is Tune: calibration, on-site training, and full owner’s documentation handed over as a deliverable. Somebody sits with the household — including the people who did not attend the design meetings — and walks the keypads, the app, the scenes and the failure modes. When you forget six months later, that is what our support is for — you have it for as long as you own the system. Call and ask. There is no charge for being asked how your own house works.

Is there a minimum project size for smart home installers in Overland Park, or will someone take a small job?

We do not publish a minimum, and we do take small work — service calls, single-room fixes, and takeovers of systems another company installed and abandoned. Monitoring and whole-home Wi-Fi both have real starting points in our published catalog, and service work sits below all of that with no floor at all. What we will tell you honestly is whether a small job is worth doing on its own or whether it is the first third of a larger problem. Call (913) 804-7575 and describe it.

What does network monitoring cost?

These are network managed-service tiers, and they cover the network — not the whole house. Foundational is included in the five-year workmanship warranty and covers UniFi firmware updates plus next-day response on outages. Whole-house adds 24/7 network monitoring with proactive alerts before you notice an outage, quarterly health reviews and priority dispatch. Estate adds dedicated monitoring, multi-WAN failover testing, monthly written reports and an on-call programmer for after-hours changes. We size the plan and give a fixed price at the site walk.

What does alarm monitoring cost?

Professional alarm monitoring through Alarm.com is priced against the alarm device count and the dispatch service selected, as its own annual service separate from the installed hardware. That buys trained operators who verify events and dispatch police, fire or EMS across intrusion, fire, CO and medical — plus video verification, app arm and disarm, and Crash & Smash protection that keeps the system reporting even if the panel is destroyed during a break-in. It is separate from surveillance: cameras record, monitoring guarantees somebody responds. We give a fixed monitoring price after a no-cost site walk.

What happens to my smart home when something breaks after the install?

You call (913) 804-7575 and reach us. The triage is ours: we work out whether the fault is workmanship (our five-year warranty), hardware (a manufacturer claim we file for you), programming (a change we make), or an internet or utility problem outside the system entirely. On a monitored network we frequently see the fault before you report it — 24×7 remote monitoring with quarterly health-check reports is designed to turn “the house is broken” into a ticket that was already open.

Do you charge hourly for programming changes?

Programming changes on a system we built are covered by our ongoing support; larger scope changes are quoted before we start. The one narrow exception, taking on an orphaned Crestron system, is described in full above.

Is there a support plan for a Control4 or Lutron system in Overland Park?

Yes, including systems we did not install. We are a Platinum-tier Control4 dealer, a Lutron Certified Installer and a Crestron Elite Partner, which is what makes a takeover possible — the credential is what lets us obtain and carry the project file rather than guessing at somebody else’s programming. A takeover starts with an on-site audit that maps what is genuinely installed, then documentation, then ongoing coverage on the same terms as a system we built.

Can one integrator manage the technology at both my Kansas City home and my lake or Florida second home?

Yes, and it is routine rather than an exception. The Kansas City metro is our primary service area and South Florida is our secondary one, on scheduled trips; the section above covers how the two-home arrangement works. One design language, one app, one phone number, both houses.

Do you subcontract the work?

No. Step three of our process is explicit about it: our crew, not subcontractors, wiring concealed before drywall, daily progress photos. That is also why a five-year workmanship warranty is possible to offer — you cannot warranty workmanship you did not perform, and an integrator who subcontracts the rough-in is warrantying somebody else’s hands.

Own a system, not a subscription.

Every project starts with a free site walk and a written, fixed-price proposal. If you already own a system and just need somebody to answer the phone, say so — that is a shorter conversation and we still want it.

Your site walk is done by Daniel Alon, every time.
