Planar video walls & displays · Kansas City.

IntegrateIT carries and installs Planar across the Kansas City metro — LED video walls for a lobby, a boardroom or a control room, LCD video walls where the content is a grid of sources, large-format displays for a conference room or a menu board, and the controllers that make a wall behave as one surface. One precision first, because the trade is sloppy about this word: Planar is a line we carry and install under distribution, not one we hold our own dealer agreement on, so we do not call ourselves an authorized Planar dealer. What we are is the people who work out the viewing distance, the structure and the power before the wall is ordered, install it, and commission it. Phone: (913) 804-7575 or office@integrateit.tech.

What we carry and install from Planar

Planar organises its range into LED video walls, LCD video walls, large-format LCD displays, desktop and touch screen monitors, and display management and control. The family names below are Planar’s own, and every specification is as Planar lists it. We specify, install and commission to order, and we draw a wall before it is ordered.

  • Indoor LED video walls. Planar’s indoor list runs from the Cobra Series and the Komodo Series through four DirectLight lines — Ultra, Slim, Pro and Essential — to the MG-2COB Series, the MG-2 Series, the VDS Series and CarbonLight Displays. Planar says its direct-view LED covers pixel pitches from 0.6 mm to 20 mm across the range, and for the DirectLight Slim Series it lists four: 0.9, 1.2, 1.5 and 1.8 mm. Pitch against viewing distance is the first decision in our video wall design.
  • All-in-one LED. The UltraRes L Series and the M135. Planar describes the UltraRes L as a Full HD all-in-one MicroLED display in 109, 122 and 136 inches, with on-board processing, integrated speakers and native 10-point touch, positioned as an alternative to front projection in meeting rooms and classrooms. It is a commercial AV room product more than a video wall one.
  • Outdoor, rental and staging, and custom and creative LED. Planar files the Luminate Ultra W Series, the Mantis Series and the LN Series under outdoor, rental and staging, and the Tile Series, the Mosaic Series, the Chameleon Series and the ALF Series under custom and creative, with CarbonLight Displays in more than one grouping. These are the families for curved, shaped and unusual surfaces, where the structure and the drawing decide whether a family is the right call.
  • LCD video walls. The Clarity Matrix G3 and the VM Series. Planar describes the Clarity Matrix G3 as mission-critical, ultra-narrow bezel displays with an off-board video controller, and lists its LCD wall range as Full HD, up to 700 nits, for control rooms, digital signage and architectural applications. Where the content is many sources in a grid, an LCD wall can still be the proportionate answer next to LED.
  • Large-format LCD displays. The 21by9 Series, which Planar describes as immersive 21:9 5K displays at 81, 94 and 105 inches; the UltraRes P Series, positioned for continuous 24x7 operation from 49 to 98 inches with optional touch; and the Simplicity E, P and M Series for signage, from 43 to 98 inches. These are the screens behind a lot of digital signage and conference-room work.
  • Collaboration, touch and desktop displays. Planar’s index also carries Collaboration & Touch Displays, Desktop & Touch Screen Monitors and accessories. We specify those room by room against the use rather than from a family name.
  • WallDirector. Planar’s control and management platform: video controllers (six compact 1U rack-mount processors, as Planar lists them), WallDirector OS for layouts, display health and alerts, and WallDirector Cloud for managing a fleet of Planar displays from a browser. The controller is part of the wall, so it goes into the rack at design, not at the end.

How a Planar wall gets designed

A wall is a structure, a power load, a signal path and a piece of software before it is a picture. The order we work in is the order in which mistakes get expensive.

  • Pitch from the nearest viewer. Pixel pitch is the spacing between LEDs, and it is set by how close the nearest person sits or stands, not by the catalogue. We work from that distance and from the content before a family is named.
  • Service and power decided once. Planar describes the DirectLight Slim Series as front-service, with a narrow cabinet profile Planar lists at under two inches and a remote power supply that moves heat, noise and weight to a rack room. We decide where the controller, the power and the service access go before the wall is framed.
  • Structure and depth. The load is continuous across the full height, and installed depth is a design input rather than an afterthought. We agree the wall structure, the blocking and the finished depth with the builder or the landlord before the order.
  • The network is part of the wall. Controllers, WallDirector and the sources live on their own lane with their own switch capacity. Our commercial networking scope exists for this, and the rack build covers where it all lands.
  • Documentation is the deliverable. Layouts, addresses, input labels and settings land in your portal. A wall nobody can administer after the install is a wall that gets replaced early.

Where Planar sits beside the other lines we carry

Planar is one of several answers on a wall, and the recommendation should be about the job. Just Video Walls is the page to read when the brief is a fully custom MicroLED line or a pre-engineered cabinet array sized to the room. Media Resources is the one for fine-pitch indoor platforms and purpose-built outdoor ones. And Samsung is the answer when the wall is meant to be a residential showpiece in its own right, in The Wall. Planar earns its place when the room also wants LCD walls, large-format screens and a control platform from one family name.

Common questions

Who installs Planar video walls in Kansas City?

IntegrateIT (Overland Park, KS) carries and installs Planar across the Kansas City metro — lobbies, boardrooms and control rooms on both sides of the state line, and larger residential walls out to Lee’s Summit. To be precise about the relationship, because the trade is sloppy about this word: Planar is a line we carry and install under distribution, not one we hold our own dealer agreement on, so we do not call ourselves an authorized Planar dealer. We specify, install and commission Planar displays to order. Phone: (913) 804-7575 or office@integrateit.tech.

What does Planar make besides LED video walls?

Planar lists LED video walls, LCD video walls, large-format LCD displays, collaboration and touch displays, desktop and touch screen monitors, custom solutions and a display management and control platform. On the LCD side that is the Clarity Matrix G3 and the VM Series for walls, and the 21by9, UltraRes P and Simplicity series for single large screens. The control side is WallDirector, with video controllers, an operating app and a cloud dashboard.

Should the wall be LED or LCD?

An LED wall has no panel seams, and its sharpness is a function of pixel pitch and size; Planar lists pitches from 0.6 mm to 20 mm across its range. An LCD wall is a grid of panels with a very narrow bezel and Full HD resolution per Planar’s description, which suits many sources shown side by side. The decision turns on how close people sit, how much light is in the room, what is shown and how the wall will be serviced, so we ask those questions before a family name.

What is pixel pitch and how do you choose it?

Pixel pitch is the spacing between the LEDs in a direct-view wall, in millimetres. A finer pitch lets people sit or stand closer before the picture breaks into dots. Planar lists four pitches for the DirectLight Slim Series, from 0.9 to 1.8 mm. We choose from the nearest viewer and the content, then check the cabinet size against the wall so the array comes out at the shape the room needs.

Can a Planar wall be managed remotely?

Planar describes WallDirector Cloud as a web-based dashboard for managing a fleet of Planar displays remotely, with commands, diagnostics and troubleshooting, and WallDirector OS as the app for layouts, display health, alerts and permissions. Whether a given site should use it depends on who administers the wall afterwards, and we set that up with the network and the documentation rather than leaving it as a default.

What does a Planar install involve, and what happens afterwards?

A site walk first, because a wall is a structure and a power question before a product one: the nearest viewer, the light, the wall behind it, and where the controller and the power will live. Then the design in writing before anything is ordered. Then installation, calibration and commissioning, with layouts, addresses and settings recorded in your portal with the rest of the project. Our installation carries a five-year workmanship warranty from the final invoice.
