Distributed audio · Leawood, 2024.
In 2024 IntegrateIT designed and installed a whole-home system in Leawood, Kansas: distributed audio, networking, security, control system and surveillance. The equipment lines on this project include Sonos, Ubiquiti, Blustream, Sonance and Marantz. Our own crew did the work from our showroom and design center at 15108 Glenwood Ave in Overland Park, Kansas. This page records the project by city and system; we publish no client name, address or photograph without the homeowner's written permission.
What went in
- Distributed audio. Speakers in the ceilings and walls, zoned by room, with the amplification in the rack and one app or keypad to pick the source. How we do distributed audio
- Networking. A wired backbone with ceiling-mounted access points placed for coverage, a managed switch, and a separate lane for the smart devices. How we do networking
- Security. A monitored alarm panel with door, window and motion sensors, keypads at the entries, and the panel tied into the control system. How we do security
- Control system. The layer that ties the rooms together: one app, keypads and scenes, so lighting, audio, video and shades answer to the same press. How we do control system
- Surveillance. Cameras at the entries and the perimeter recording locally, viewable on the phone and on the house screens. How we do surveillance
Equipment lines named on the project list: Sonos, Ubiquiti, Blustream, Sonance, Marantz. Every line we specify is one we hold a dealer agreement on or carry through distribution; the brands directory says which is which.
What a project like this involves
A distributed-audio project is a wiring project first. Every speaker location is decided with the homeowner, the wire is run to a central rack, and the amplification and sources live there rather than in the rooms. The rooms get a keypad or a touch panel, and the phone gets the same control.
The decisions that matter are the zone count, which rooms share a source, where the outdoor zones end, and how the system hands off to the theater when there is one. Those are settled on the site walk, and the proposal lists every speaker by room.
The size of this one, in our records, is a whole-home system. We do not publish prices; the cost guides explain what moves them, and every project gets one fixed written price after a site walk.
