★Carried & Installed
PSB loudspeakers · Kansas City.
IntegrateIT carries and installs PSB across the Kansas City metro — tower, bookshelf and powered speakers for the room people sit in, the Custom Sound range for the walls and ceilings around it, and subwoofers to go with both. One precision first, because the trade is sloppy about this word: PSB is a line we carry and install under distribution, not one we hold our own dealer agreement on, so we do not call ourselves an authorized PSB dealer. What we are is the people who pick the series against the room, cut the openings where the drawing says and tune the result after the furniture is in. Phone: (913) 804-7575 or office@integrateit.tech.
The useful thing to know before any model name: PSB’s site lists its speakers by series, and the architectural series is a family of its own. Custom Sound lists in-wall and angled in-ceiling speakers, in-ceiling speakers in six and eight-inch sizes and in-wall subwoofers. A room can be built from boxed speakers, built-in ones or a mix, and the plan says which.
What we carry and install from PSB
PSB’s menu lists its speakers under Series — Synchrony, Passif, Imagine, Alpha, iQ, Custom Sound, PWM and SubSeries — and sorts them by type: tower, bookshelf, wireless, home theatre, outdoor, architectural, subwoofer and powered. These are the families we specify here, as PSB names them.
- Synchrony. The Synchrony T800 and T600 towers, the B600 bookshelf and the SST-24 stands for the B600. PSB calls it its flagship series. The towers stand on four outrigger stabilizers with custom isolators, the T600 and T800 include two bass port covers for adjusting bass to the room, and the grilles attach magnetically. This is the range for the listening room, and the front stage of a dedicated theater that wants boxes.
- Imagine. The Imagine T65 and T54 towers and the B50 bookshelf. PSB says the series uses flagship technologies from Synchrony, lists Satin Black and White finishes with aluminum trim rings, and describes the towers as slim. It is the range for a living room or media room that wants towers with a smaller footprint.
- Alpha. The Alpha T20 tower, P5 bookshelf, P3 compact bookshelf and C10 centre, the AM5 powered bookshelf and AM3 compact powered speakers, and the S8 and S10 subwoofers. Powered speakers are the answer for a bedroom, an office or a desk that will not be wired to a rack.
- Custom Sound — in-wall and in-ceiling. The W-LCR in-wall speaker; the C-LCR and CS AIC 860 angled in-ceiling speakers; and the CS850, CS805 and CS810 eight-inch and CS650, CS610, CS605 and CS630 six-inch in-ceiling models, the CS630 a stereo one. This is the family behind a whole-house audio system, and the angled models are the ones to ask about when a ceiling speaker has to be aimed toward the seats.
- Custom Sound subwoofers. The CSIW SUB10 and the dual eight-inch CSIW SUB28 in-wall subwoofers, the CSIR SUB in-room subwoofer, and a subwoofer amplifier from the same range. In a home theater they are the option when a box on the floor is not welcome.
- Outdoors — CS1000 and CS500. PSB lists both as Universal In-Outdoor Speakers. Whether a speaker with that description suits a covered porch or an exposed pool deck is a question about the mounting and the exposure, and the rating PSB publishes for the exact model decides it; see outdoor audio.
- SubSeries. The BP12, BP8 and BP7 subwoofers, with rear-mounted controls for volume, crossover and phase. Placement is measured in the room, not guessed; see home theater calibration.
How we put PSB into a room
- Boxes where people sit, built-ins everywhere else. A tower or bookshelf pair in the room that is listened in, Custom Sound in the ceilings and walls of the rest. The plan lists which room is which before anything is ordered.
- Openings and cable at rough-in. Cut-out size, depth and the cable path are checked against PSB’s published specification for the exact model and settled while the ceiling is open, as part of the pre-wire. Speaker cable is home-run to the rack and labelled at both ends.
- Bass drawn with the room. In-wall subwoofers share the cavity, so position, depth and the amplifier location are drawn early. Measured and tuned afterwards, once the furniture is in.
- One control surface, one record. The speakers sit behind a keypad or an app on a Control4 or Crestron system we design and program, and model numbers, wire labels and settings land in your portal with the project record.
Where PSB sits beside the other lines we carry
PSB is the line to look at when the plan wants boxed speakers and a built-in range from the same maker. Monitor Audio is the comparison when the brief also wants in-wall subwoofer kits and an outdoor pair from one catalogue. KEF is the point-source alternative. For distributed audio across many rooms, Episode is built around exactly that. The recommendation comes off the room and the seating, not the catalogue.
Common questions
Who installs PSB speakers in Kansas City?
IntegrateIT (Overland Park, KS) carries and installs PSB across the Kansas City metro — living rooms, media rooms and whole-house systems on both sides of the state line, from Overland Park and Leawood to Mission Hills and out to Lee’s Summit. To be precise about the relationship, because the trade is sloppy about this word: PSB is a line we carry and install under distribution, not one we hold our own dealer agreement on, so we do not call ourselves an authorized PSB dealer. What we do is walk the house, specify the speakers, install and commission them, and document the result. Phone: (913) 804-7575 or office@integrateit.tech.
What is PSB Custom Sound?
It is PSB’s architectural series, written with a space in the name. PSB’s architectural page lists a W-LCR in-wall speaker, the C-LCR and CS AIC 860 angled in-ceiling speakers, six-inch in-ceiling models (CS650, CS610, CS605 and the stereo CS630), eight-inch in-ceiling models (CS850, CS805 and CS810), in-wall subwoofers (CSIW SUB10 and the dual eight-inch CSIW SUB28), an in-room subwoofer and a subwoofer amplifier. Which of them a room gets is decided on the drawing, against the opening, the depth behind the drywall and what the ceiling is made of.
What is the difference between Synchrony, Imagine and Alpha?
PSB calls Synchrony its flagship series, with T800 and T600 towers and a B600 bookshelf. Imagine, with the T65 and T54 towers and the B50 bookshelf, uses flagship technologies from Synchrony according to PSB. Alpha’s page lists a tower, two bookshelves, a centre, two powered speakers and two subwoofers. The decision for a room is footprint, where the speakers can stand and whether the room is for listening or for background.
Can PSB speakers be built into a home theater?
Yes, two ways. PSB lists towers and bookshelves across Synchrony, Imagine and Alpha, with an Alpha centre, for a boxed theater, and the Custom Sound range gives in-wall and angled in-ceiling speakers for surrounds, with in-wall subwoofers where a box on the floor is not welcome. The choice is the room: ceiling height, seating and what the walls are made of. Either way the subwoofers are measured and the processor calibrated after the furniture lands.
Does PSB make outdoor speakers?
PSB lists the CS1000 and CS500 as Universal In-Outdoor Speakers. The listing does not tell us how a given location will treat them, so we confirm the rating PSB publishes for the model, the mounting and the exposure before one goes on an outdoor drawing. For an exposed patio or pool deck we may specify a different line, and we say so on the proposal.
What does an install involve, and what happens afterwards?
A site walk first: where people sit, what the walls and ceilings are made of, where the cable can run and where the rack goes. Then the drawing, rough-in, installation and commissioning — levels matched, subwoofers measured, rooms tuned after the furniture arrives — and documentation with model numbers, wire labels and settings. Our installation carries a five-year workmanship warranty from the final invoice; whatever warranty PSB gives on its own hardware is PSB’s to state.
Tell us the rooms and where people sit. The speakers follow.
