SVS subwoofers · Kansas City.

IntegrateIT carries and installs SVS across the Kansas City metro — subwoofers for a home theater or a music room, speakers where the system calls for them, and the placement, calibration and control that decide whether bass sounds like part of the room or like a box in the corner. One precision first: SVS is a line we carry and install under distribution, not one we hold our own dealer agreement on, so we do not call ourselves an authorized SVS dealer. What we are is the people who choose the right pieces for the room, place them, calibrate them, and commission what we install. Phone: (913) 804-7575 or office@integrateit.tech.

What we carry and install from SVS

SVS’s site places its engineering in Youngstown, Ohio, and sorts the range into subwoofers, speakers, wireless products and accessories. The families below are the ones listed on SVS’s own site, in its own spelling; we specify, install and commission to order.

  • Pro Series subwoofers. SVS lists the 1000 Pro Series (the SB-1000 Pro and PB-1000 Pro) and the 2000 Pro Series (the SB-2000 Pro, PB-2000 Pro and PC-2000 Pro). Which one a room needs comes down to its size and how it is used, and we settle that at the site walk.
  • Subwoofers in the R|Evolution Series. The 3000 R|Evolution Series (SB-3000 R|Evolution, PB-3000 R|Evolution and 3000 Micro R|Evolution), the 5000 R|Evolution Series (SB-5000 R|Evolution and PB-5000 R|Evolution) and the 17-Ultra R|Evolution Series (SB17-Ultra R|Evolution and PB17-Ultra R|Evolution). SVS says its subwoofers can be tuned and controlled through the SVS subwoofer app.
  • Sealed, ported and cylinder. SVS describes a wide range of sealed and ported subwoofers and lists Sealed, Ported and Cylinder as the types you can shop by. The page does not assign each model to a type, so we read the model’s own page. It matters because the type decides the cabinet size and how the bass behaves in the room, which is a design question for our home theater work.
  • In-wall subwoofer. The 3000 In-Wall Subwoofer is listed under SVS’s Shop By Type. It is the answer when the room wants no box on the floor, and it is a framing decision made before the drywall goes up — a job for our luxury home theater planning.
  • Speakers in the Ultra Evolution range. The Pinnacle, Titan, Bookshelf, Center, Elevation, Tower and Nano models. For a room that wants speakers and subwoofers from one maker, this is the range SVS lists.
  • Speakers in the Prime Series. The Prime Bookshelf, Tower, Pinnacle, Center, Elevation and Satellite models, plus the Satellite 2.1 and Satellite 5.1 sets. We specify these by the room, the listening distance and the amplifier that drives them, like any other speaker.
  • Prime Wireless Pro. A powered speaker pair and the Soundbase, which SVS lists as a two-channel integrated amplifier, both Wi-Fi and Bluetooth enabled with smartphone control. They make a second-room or office answer rather than a main theater.

How we put SVS into a room

Bass is the part of a theater that the room alters more than any other. These are the parts of the job that decide whether a subwoofer sounds like part of the system.

  • Placement before model. Where a subwoofer stands changes the bass in a room more than which model it is, so we try positions and measure before anything is cut or fixed. Bass that still misbehaves is often the room, which is what our theater acoustic treatment scope is for.
  • One subwoofer or more. We decide after measuring, not before. A second subwoofer in a different position can even out the bass across the seats; a small room may need only one.
  • Calibrate it with a microphone. Crossover, level, distance and phase are set against the main speakers and the processor’s room correction, then the settings are saved, including the app’s. SVS also lists an Auto EQ Mic as an accessory, and the whole routine is the work behind our home theater calibration visits.
  • Cable or wireless. On a house still being framed a subwoofer cable is pulled at rough-in, which is a new-construction low-voltage task. On a finished floor the SoundPath Wireless Audio Adapter avoids a cable across the room.
  • Documentation. Model and serial numbers, positions, the crossover, level and distance settings and the app preset land in your portal with the rest of the project record, so a later change starts from what was measured, not from memory.

Where SVS sits beside the other lines we carry

SVS makes subwoofers and speakers, so a room can take its bass and its loudspeakers from one catalogue. For music rooms and wall-hung options, REL Acoustics lists subwoofer series for music systems and for home theater, and an ultra-thin model that mounts on the wall. When the subwoofer has to disappear into the architecture, Triad lists in-wall, in-ceiling and in-room models. And when the theater is built around a full loudspeaker system, JBL Synthesis’s SSW subwoofers are the ones matched to the Synthesis speakers on our page.

Common questions

Who installs SVS subwoofers in Kansas City?

IntegrateIT (Overland Park, KS) carries and installs SVS across the Kansas City metro — home theaters, media rooms and music rooms on both sides of the state line, from Leawood and Prairie Village out to Lee’s Summit. To be precise about the relationship, because the trade is sloppy about this word: SVS is a line we carry and install under distribution, not one we hold our own dealer agreement on, so we do not call ourselves an authorized SVS dealer. What we do is choose, place, calibrate and commission the bass in the room. Phone: (913) 804-7575 or office@integrateit.tech.

What does SVS make besides subwoofers?

SVS’s site sorts its range into subwoofers, speakers, wireless products and accessories. The speakers are the Ultra Evolution range and the Prime Series, with the Prime Wireless Pro powered pair and Soundbase as the wireless products, and the accessories include the SoundPath cables and adapters, the SVS Auto EQ Mic and a subwoofer isolation system. A whole room from one maker is possible. Whether it is the right answer is a room question rather than a catalogue one, and we say so when it is not.

Should the subwoofer be sealed or ported?

SVS lists both, and a cylinder type besides, so the choice is real. A ported subwoofer vents part of its output through a port and a sealed one does not, and the two behave differently in the same room and take different cabinet sizes. The room decides it: its size, how loud it is played, where the subwoofer can stand and what the neighbours can hear. We choose after a site walk and, where we can, a measurement, rather than from the catalogue.

Can an SVS subwoofer be hidden in a wall?

SVS lists a 3000 In-Wall Subwoofer, so yes, for a room where the framing is open or can be opened. It is a decision for the framing stage: the cavity, the cable and the access are settled before the drywall, and the placement is checked against where the bass will actually sound good. In a finished room we look at placement behind furniture or a different model before we cut a wall.

How many subwoofers does a theater need?

It depends on the room, and we decide after measuring rather than before. One subwoofer placed well can be enough for a smaller room. A second one in a different position often evens out the bass across the seats. Beyond that, the room’s shape and treatment usually matter more than another box. Our site walk looks at the seating, the shape of the room and where the cable and power can go.

What happens after the install?

The system is placed, calibrated and written into your portal: model and serial numbers, positions, the crossover, level and distance settings and the app preset. Every install carries our five-year workmanship warranty from the final invoice. If the room changes — new furniture, a second subwoofer, a finished basement — we come back and measure again rather than leaving you to guess.
