IntegrateIT carries and installs BenQ across the Kansas City metro — the media room that has to work with the blinds half open, the simulator bay with a club swinging through it, and the classroom or meeting room that needs a picture more than it needs a reference. One precision first, because the trade is sloppy about this word: BenQ is a line we carry and install under distribution, not one we hold our own dealer agreement on, so we do not call ourselves an authorized BenQ dealer. What we carry and install from BenQ

BenQ names its ranges by the room rather than by a price tier, which is genuinely useful — it means the series name already tells you what the projector was designed to survive. We specify and install to order; nothing below sits on a shelf here, and what lands on your proposal comes off the site walk.

• Home Cinema Series. BenQ’s main range and the one most Kansas City projects land in. The HT2050A, HT2060 and short-throw HT2150ST at the accessible end; the HT3550, HT3560 and HT4550i through the middle; the HT8060 at the far end, with the W2720i, W4100i and W5800 alongside and the compact GP500 and GP520 for a room that cannot take a full-size body. This is the range for a media room rather than a blacked-out theater.
• TV Projector Series — ultra short throw. The V5010i and V7050i: a cabinet projector that sits against the wall where a television would, throws a large image from inches away, and does not need a ceiling run or a lens calculation. Where a client wants a hundred inches in a living room and will not accept anything hanging from the ceiling, this is the honest answer.
• 4K Gaming — the X series. The X300G, X3100i and X500i, built around low input lag rather than around film. If the room is really a games room with a film night attached, this is the range rather than the cinema one — and the decision is usually made by whoever actually uses the room most.
• Golf Simulator Projectors — short throw. The AH30ST, AW30ST, AH500ST, AH700ST and AK700ST, with the LK936ST for a commercial bay. Built to throw a full image from a few feet so the projector sits out of the swing path. This is the range we specify in a simulator bay and in commercial bays.
• Installation and large-venue projectors. The LK970, LU9750 and LU9800 sit at BenQ’s commercial end, alongside the business ranges BenQ organises by room — professional installation, simulation projection, small business and corporate, and K12 and higher education. These land in a commercial room, where the deciding factors are lens options, duty cycle and how the room is controlled.
• Portable projectors. The GP100A and GS50, and the GV family of small battery-capable projectors. Worth a plain warning rather than a sales line: BenQ is currently carrying a recall notice for the GV31 on its own site, so while that notice stands the GV31 is not a model we will specify.
• BenQ Board and signage displays. The interactive display range for classrooms and meeting rooms, plus BenQ’s signage side — the Pantone Validated Smart Signage Series, the 4K Smart Signage Series and the corporate display range. These turn up on a signage network rather than in a house.
• Monitors and desk lighting. BenQ’s colour-critical and design monitor ranges and the ScreenBar monitor-light family. We mention them because clients ask; they are a desk product rather than an integration one, and we will not pretend otherwise.

How a BenQ projector gets installed properly

Most of the disappointing projector installs we are asked to fix are not bad projectors. They are good projectors in the wrong place, throwing at the wrong screen, in a room nobody measured.

• The screen decides, not the projector. Screen size comes off the seating distance, screen gain comes off the room’s light, and the throw ratio those two produce is what picks the model. We pair BenQ with Screen Innovations or Stewart Filmscreen.
• Keystone correction is a fix, not a plan. A projector squared to the screen looks better than one corrected into shape in software. We mount it where the geometry works and use the correction only for the last of it.
• The light in the room is half the picture. In a Johnson County basement with an egress window, a shade does more for contrast than another thousand lumens. That is a shade conversation, and we will have it before the projector conversation.
• Power and signal in the ceiling, not on the floor. An HDMI run to a ceiling mount wants the right cable and a spare conductor pulled while the ceiling is open. Retrofitting that later costs more than it did to do.
• One press, or it will not get used. The projector joins a Control4 or Crestron Home scene with the screen, the lights and the sources rather than keeping its own remote on a side table.

Where BenQ sits beside the other lines we carry

We carry more than one answer on purpose, and none of them pays us to be recommended. In a blacked-out dedicated theater the argument is Sony against JVC, and BenQ is not in it. In a media room with real ambient light, BenQ frequently is the answer, and spending three times as much there buys contrast the room will not let you see. In a commercial space the comparison is against Panasonic and Barco, and it comes down to lens catalogue and duty cycle. Three rooms, three answers, and the walk is what tells us which one you have.
