Salamander Designs seating & AV furniture · Kansas City.

IntegrateIT carries and installs Salamander Designs across the Kansas City metro — custom seating for a theater or a media room, the AV cabinets that hold the equipment and hide the cable, audio racks, TV stands, and modular cabinets for a meeting room. One precision first, because the trade is sloppy about this word: Salamander Designs is a line we carry and install under distribution, not one we hold our own dealer agreement on, so we do not call ourselves an authorized Salamander Designs dealer. What we are is the people who draw the room first, run the power and the cable to every seat and shelf, and set the furniture in place once the wall and the equipment are done. Phone: (913) 804-7575 or office@integrateit.tech.

What we carry and install from Salamander Designs

Salamander Designs splits its range into Residential (AV cabinets, projector cabinets, audio racks and stands, TV stands, seating and accessories) and Commercial (Pro Cabinets, media walls, mobile carts, tables, tabletop stands and wall stands). The names below are Salamander’s own, as its pages spell them. We specify, install and commission to order.

  • Custom seating — the II collections. Alex II, Isabella II, Lilliana II, Luca II, Matteo II and Talia II. Salamander describes Alex II as swooping arms on a low profile, Lilliana II as a horizontal-pattern, retro style it positions for dedicated theaters, and Matteo II as the collection with the smallest footprint. Salamander lists power recline, heating, lumbar support, adjustable headrests and integrated USB charging as options, with customizable dimensions and configurations. Our home theater seating drawings start from the room, and the collection is chosen to fit it.
  • Row seating and the extras. The Olivia II Sectional, which Salamander builds with chaise and corner connectors for an L-shaped sectional or straight connector arms for theater rows, and the Jumpseat Ottoman II, an ottoman that transforms into a chair. AV Basics – TC3 is the one collection Salamander says is not customizable. Accessories include a Storage Ottoman, a Cache End-Table, Pillows, a Swivel Table and a Tactile Sound Transducer, and Salamander publishes a Seating Designer configurator.
  • AV cabinets. Salamander lists Media Cabinets, Projector Cabinets, Speaker Integrated Cabinets, Slim Cabinets, Audio Cabinets, Corner Cabinets and the Modular Synergy System. Its pages name models including Manhattan, Milan, Barcelona, Zurich, Elba, Seattle, Chicago, Oslo, Berlin, Miami, Lancaster and Denver, with Chameleon under speaker-integrated cabinets. The interior options are custom shelving, hidden compartments and, in select models, a fully integrated refrigerator. This is furniture for a media room that has to look like a room.
  • Cabinet accessories. Wall mounting kits for a floating look, designer feet and bases (stiletto, block, wheels), active cooling systems, and rack mounts with pull-out shelves. Equipment that makes heat or needs service access is the reason to read this list before the cabinet is chosen, and the reason our network rack build work sits beside it.
  • Audio racks and TV stands. The Archetype System audio rack, which Salamander describes as an open, modular stand in three heights and three real woods plus black, with vertical adjustment, ventilation, vibration isolation and cable management. For televisions, the Acadia, which Salamander describes as ultra-slim and available in fixed and mobile versions. Where a wall mount is the better answer we say so, and the TV mounting and concealment scope covers it.
  • Commercial Pro Cabinets. Salamander’s own description is modular, freestanding AV furniture for meeting rooms and shared spaces, where the equipment mounts to the cabinet rather than the wall, in sixteen finishes and configurable in four depths and from one to eight bays. Salamander says they are built to order in Connecticut. We bring them into a commercial AV room alongside the display, the conferencing gear and the cable.

How we put Salamander Designs into a room

Furniture is the last thing in and the first thing anyone sees. What decides whether it works is everything that was decided before it arrived.

  • The room is drawn first. Seat count, row depth, riser height, aisle width, screen and speaker positions go on one drawing. Salamander’s Seating Designer is a useful configurator, and the drawing is what tells us whether the configuration it produces fits the room.
  • Power and cable before the riser closes. Power recline, heating and USB charging each want an outlet at the seat, and a cabinet wants power, a cable route and, where Salamander offers it, active cooling for the equipment inside. These go in the floor and the wall while they are still open.
  • Equipment measured, not guessed. We count rack units, depth and heat before a cabinet is chosen, because a cabinet that looks right and cannot ventilate its amplifier is a return. Our network rack build scope covers the cabling and the layout.
  • Sound belongs in the plan. A Tactile Sound Transducer under a row, a speaker-integrated cabinet and a low seat back all change the acoustic plan. We draw them together with the room’s acoustic treatment.
  • Documentation is the deliverable. Collection, model, finish and configuration go into your portal with the rest of the project record, so a replacement or an extra seat is an order, not an investigation.

Where Salamander Designs sits beside the other lines we carry

Salamander Designs covers the seat and the cabinet from one maker, which is its case when a room wants both in matching finishes. When the brief is theater seating alone, Cinematech is worth reading for its swivel chairs and acoustic wall fabric, Elite HTS for its front-row seating such as theater beds and sectionals, and Cineak for made-to-order seating built in Belgium with motorized options. The right call depends on the room, the budget and how many seats, so we draw it before we recommend it.

Common questions

Who installs Salamander Designs seating and cabinets in Kansas City?

IntegrateIT (Overland Park, KS) carries and installs Salamander Designs across the Kansas City metro — dedicated theaters, media rooms and AV closets in Johnson County and Kansas City, Missouri, and larger properties out to Lee’s Summit. To be precise about the relationship, because the trade is sloppy about this word: Salamander Designs is a line we carry and install under distribution, not one we hold our own dealer agreement on, so we do not call ourselves an authorized Salamander Designs dealer. We specify, install and commission Salamander Designs furniture to order. Phone: (913) 804-7575 or office@integrateit.tech.

What does Salamander Designs make besides seating?

Salamander lists AV cabinets, projector cabinets, audio racks and stands, TV stands and accessories on the residential side, and Pro Cabinets, media walls, mobile carts, tables, tabletop stands and wall stands or mounts on the commercial side. The cabinet families include Media, Projector, Speaker Integrated, Slim, Audio and Corner cabinets and the Modular Synergy System. The seating is the II collections plus AV Basics – TC3.

Which Salamander seating collection suits a dedicated theater?

It depends on the room, so we start from the drawing. Salamander positions the Lilliana II for dedicated home theaters and cinema rooms, the Alex II is a low-profile chair whose low seat back Salamander says helps surround sound, the Matteo II is its smallest-footprint chair, and the Olivia II Sectional builds rows from straight connector arms or an L-shaped sectional with chaise and corner connectors. We match the collection to the row depth and the riser, then confirm options such as power recline and headrests.

Do power recline and heated seats need outlets?

Yes. Salamander lists power recline, heating, lumbar support, adjustable headrests and integrated USB charging as options on its custom seating, and each powered position needs an outlet or a low-voltage feed at the seat. The cheap time to run it is before the riser is closed. We plan the power with the seat count, and we label every run so a replacement chair plugs in where the old one did.

Can a Salamander cabinet hold a real equipment rack?

Salamander lists rack mounts with pull-out shelves and active cooling systems among its cabinet accessories, and says cabinets can be built to hold displays, equipment and wiring. How much a given cabinet can hold, and whether it can ventilate it, depends on the model, so we count rack units, depth and heat first and choose the cabinet second. For a larger system we build the rack separately and use the cabinet for the finished room.

What does a Salamander Designs install involve, and what happens afterwards?

A site walk first, then the room drawn with seats, screen, speakers, power and cable routes. Then the specification in writing — collection, model, finish, options — before anything is ordered, because the furniture is built to order. Then installation and commissioning: furniture placed, powered seats tested, equipment racked and labelled. Model, finish and configuration are recorded with the rest of the project. Our installation carries a five-year workmanship warranty from the final invoice.
