Basehor · new-construction automation on the metro edge.
IntegrateIT is a home automation and low-voltage integrator serving Basehor, Kansas, a comfortable drive northwest of the design center at 15108 Glenwood Ave, Overland Park. Much of the housing here came out of the ground recently, so we are usually in during framing: structured cabling and conduit at rough-in, a wired access-point network and gate cameras sized for a large lot. Control4 Platinum Dealer, Crestron Elite Partner, Lutron Certified Dealer, CEDIA member, HTA Certified. Five-year workmanship warranty. (913) 804-7575.
Basehor has been building steadily for years, and what we touch there came out of the ground recently. This is Leavenworth County on the northwest edge of the metro, where new subdivisions sit on lots big enough that a single router in a hall closet was never going to cover the house. Because so much is new construction, we are often in during framing, which is the cheapest and best time to decide what a home will be able to do. It is a comfortable drive northwest of our Overland Park design center, and we plan the days accordingly.
Installing in Basehor
What is different about Basehor houses
Installing here is different because we usually get the walls open. Rough-in is where a house becomes capable, so we run structured cabling to every location that might ever want it, set an equipment space with real power and airflow, and put lighting on a wired backbone instead of leaving it for later. Conduit goes to the attic and to the far corners of the lot while trenching is still easy. Owners who spend a little at framing spend far less five years on, when the same work means opening finished drywall.
The lots are what separate Basehor from a first-ring suburb. Coverage has to reach a detached shop, a driveway gate, a back fence line and often an outbuilding, which no consumer router does honestly. We design the network around wired access points, put outdoor cameras on cable rather than battery where it matters, and give smart devices their own lane. On acreage the run lengths themselves become a design decision, and that is far easier to solve during construction than after landscaping is in.
Outdoor living is a bigger part of the brief than it is closer to the city. Deep back yards here support real patio audio, a weather-rated display and lighting that makes the space usable after dark, all controlled from the same app as the rest of the house. Basements in these builds tend to have the height and footprint for a theater or a simulator bay, so we plan the room early, when moving a duct or a beam pocket is still a conversation with the builder rather than a demolition.

What a home theater really costs
A media room, a dedicated theater and a reference build are three different projects. What separates two identical basements is the room, not the equipment list.

Questions from Basehor homeowners
We are building in Basehor. When should we call you?
- As soon as you have plans, and no later than framing. Pre-wire is the least expensive part of the whole project and it decides what the house can do for decades. We coordinate with your builder, complete rough-in in one clean pass, then return after drywall for trim, programming and calibration. Calling after the walls close narrows the options and raises the cost.
Will Wi-Fi reach the shop and the back of the lot?
- It will if we design for it rather than hope. On lots this size we run cable to each access point, use outdoor-rated hardware where weather reaches it, and extend coverage to outbuildings on wire instead of stacking wireless repeaters. Cameras and controls get their own lane so they do not slow the household. We plan the runs while trenching is still easy.
Do you come this far northwest for service calls?
- Yes. Basehor is inside our normal service map, a drive northwest of the Overland Park design center. Issues are often resolved remotely because the network and control system are monitored, and when hands are needed we schedule a visit. Every system carries a five-year workmanship warranty, manufacturer warranties on the products, and our support for as long as you own the system.
Can our unfinished basement become a theater later?
- Yes, and it is much easier if we prepare for it now. During rough-in we place the cabling, the power and the equipment path a future theater will need, and we check ceiling height and duct routing against a real seating layout. Then, whenever you finish the space, the room is ready and the work is finish carpentry rather than demolition.
