IntegrateIT carries and installs James by Sonance across the Kansas City metro — the built-to-order architectural, theater and outdoor speakers that go into jobs where the opening, the finish or the site is the constraint. One precision first, because two facts sit close together here and the trade blurs them: we hold our own dealer agreement with Sonance, and James is a separate line we carry and install under distribution rather than one we hold our own agreement on — so we do not call ourselves an authorized James Loudspeaker dealer. One housekeeping note, because people still look for the old address: jamesloudspeaker.com redirects to sonance.com now. Sonance published the move on 6 January 2026 — “All JamesLoudspeaker.com product information is now available on here, on Sonance.com” — and the brand is presented as James by Sonance, with the longer name James Loudspeaker still used in the company’s own copy. Same speakers, same factory. James publishes that nearly every product is designed, engineered and manufactured in Minden, Nevada, in an in-house machine shop, carpentry shop, fabrication, testing, powder-coating and finishing facility, and that almost every product in the catalogue can be made for 70V or marine grade.

What we carry and install from James

These are the families we specify here, and what each one is actually for:

• Small Aperture Series — the reason most people call. SA42-4, SA63-4, SA63-7, SA63-8, SA68, SA853QT-6 and SA853QT-9, with the SA54-4-SUB, SA81-9-SUB and SA101-SUB subwoofers. Sonance publishes the brief plainly: take “enormous sound” and deliver it “through a modest opening in the ceiling”. That is what a crowded plaster ceiling in a whole-house system usually needs.
• BE MKII Series — the reference in-wall line. BE806-MKII, BE808-MKII and BE812-MKII, plus the QX-BE806 MKII. The front stage for a dedicated theater that is built into the wall plane rather than standing in front of it.
• QX and QXC — in-wall and in-ceiling with Quadratech. QX530QT, QX630QT and QX830QT in the wall; QXC8S-R and QXC10S in the ceiling; QX1010 and QX1020 as the in-wall subwoofers. The workhorse family for rooms that want the James build without the small-aperture engineering premium.
• VX Quadratech on-wall — VXQ48, VXQ68 and VXQ88. For a masonry or concrete wall that cannot be cut into, and for millwork where the speaker has to sit proud and still look intentional.
• Maverick Series and Cube Series. M122, M152, M213, M1040BMS, MQ84 and MQS85 are the high-output theater models; CUBE43 and CUBE63 are the compact bookshelf boxes for a surround position or a small room.
• QX-SPL soundbars. QX-SPL2, QX-SPL5QT and SPL CENTERGY — the answer under a television where a conventional centre channel will not fit, and where the bar has to be built to the display rather than bought to fit it approximately.
• Outdoor — Outdoor Tower, OMNI and Wedge X. OT66Q, OT84 and OT88Q are the tower models, published as aircraft-grade aluminium with a titanium quad tweeter array and dual aluminium woofers. OMNI89, OMNI109 and OMNI129 radiate 360 degrees. WX48QT and WX58QT tuck into a corner or under an eave. All of it belongs on the outdoor audio drawing, not on the punch list.
• Landscape — the AT | ST Series. All Terrain satellites AT32, AT42 and AT62 with Subterranean burial subwoofers ST8, ST10, ST12, ST15 and ST21. Satellites in the planting beds, the low end underground, and the conduit run while the landscaper still has the trench open.
• Subwoofers — EMB and Marine PowerPipe X. EMB8, EMB10, EMB12, EMB15 and the DF10 are the compact aluminium embedded models; PPX8-M, PPX10-M, PPX12-M and PPX15-M are the marine-grade PowerPipe X models for a dock, a boathouse or a boat.
• Pendant speakers and amplification. PD42 and PD62 hang where there is no ceiling to cut into — an exposed-structure great room, a commercial space or a barn conversion — and the M1000 is the DSP subwoofer amplifier James publishes for its own passive models.

We specify and install to order, and James builds to order anyway, which is the whole point. Custom dimensions, finishes, grille materials, 70V taps and marine grade are settled on the drawing rather than discovered on the install day.

How we design the line in

• The ceiling plan is the real constraint. On the jobs where this brand earns its money, the audio is the last trade to the ceiling — sprinklers, structure, cans and registers got there first. A small aperture is what makes a full-size speaker possible in what is left, and that decision is worth making with the architect rather than around them.
• Built to order means lead time. A custom dimension or finish is a schedule item. We put it on the drawing at design, not at trim-out, because the thing that goes wrong with built-to-order speakers is never the speaker — it is the week the house needed them.
• Back boxes, brackets and conduit at rough-in. In-wall and in-ceiling models want their enclosure and cable path settled while the building is open; landscape satellites and burial subwoofers want conduit while the trench is. Both belong in the pre-wire.
• Outside is a site problem before it is a speaker problem. Sight lines, throw distance, where the neighbour’s property starts and what the HOA will accept decide the model. A tower on a pool deck and a satellite in a planting bed are different answers to different yards, and we will say which yours is.
• 70V where the site earns it. Long runs, a large property or a restaurant patio are where distributed 70V beats low impedance, and James publishes that almost its whole catalogue can be built for it. That is a wiring decision made early, not a product swapped in late.
• One press in front of all of it. We are a Control4 Platinum Dealer with a Control4 Certified Showroom and a Crestron Elite Partner with programming done in house, so the outdoor zones and the ceiling zones show up as scenes and keypads rather than as another app.

Where it sits beside the lines we also carry

James is the answer when the opening, the finish or the site will not bend. Triad is also built to order and is usually the more economical route to a painted-to-match grille on an ordinary ceiling; Bowers & Wilkins is the broad one-brand-everywhere range and MartinLogan is the electrostatic route for a listening room. Where the brief forbids a grille entirely we are an authorized Sonance dealer and the Invisible Series gets skim-coated into the wall. In a reference cinema it is Wisdom Audio or JBL Synthesis; TruAudio covers the volume architectural and landscape work, Cabasse is the coaxial point-source alternative, and for a patio that is the whole project it is usually Coastal Source. We carry the whole spread, so the recommendation can be about the site rather than about what we happen to stock.
