★Carried & Installed
McIntosh amplifiers · Kansas City.
IntegrateIT carries and installs McIntosh across the Kansas City metro — the amplifiers for a dedicated listening room, the processors and power amplifiers for a theater, and the rack-mount amplifiers that run music through a house. One precision first, because the trade is sloppy about this word: McIntosh is a line we carry and install under distribution, not one we hold our own dealer agreement on, so we do not call ourselves an authorized McIntosh dealer. What we are is the people who decide where the equipment goes, wire the room, set the levels and commission what we install. Phone: (913) 804-7575 or office@integrateit.tech.
What we carry and install from McIntosh
McIntosh sorts its range by category on its own site, and the categories below follow that index. Model names and channel counts are McIntosh’s own as listed there. We specify, install and commission to order, so the exact units for your room come off the room plan.
- Power amplifiers. A one-channel model (MC611), two-channel models (MC462, MC312 and MC152), a two-channel vacuum-tube model (MC275), and three-, five- and seven-channel models (MC303, MC255 and MC257). The multichannel models are the range a home theater draws on when the processor needs separate power behind it; the two-channel models are for a stereo room.
- Integrated amplifiers and a receiver. The MA12000, MA9500, MA8950, MA7200, MA5300, MA352 and MA252 two-channel integrated amplifiers, the MA2375 two-channel vacuum-tube integrated amplifier, the MSA5500 streaming integrated amplifier, and the MAC7200 two-channel receiver. One chassis does the preamplifier and amplifier work, which suits a listening room where the equipment is on view. For streaming, McIntosh also lists the DS200 Streaming DAC and the MB25 Bluetooth Transceiver, which it positions as a way to add streaming to a McIntosh system of any age.
- Preamplifiers. The C12000, C2800, C22 Mk V and C55 two-channel preamplifiers, the CS7500 streaming preamplifier and the MP100 phono preamplifier. A separate preamplifier is the choice when the power amplifier lives somewhere else, beside the speakers or in a rack.
- Home theater processors and a receiver. The MX124 A/V Processor at 13.4 audio channels, the MX200 A/V Processor at 11.2 channels, and the MHT300 Home Theater Receiver at 7.2 channels, expandable to 7.2.4. These are the electronics for a dedicated theater or a media room, with the power amplifiers above behind them where the room needs more than a receiver.
- Custom Install range. McIntosh groups products for home theater and multi-room distributed audio on one page, and says the distribution amplifiers are rack mountable. The digital power amplifiers are the MI502, MI254, MI347, MI128 and MI1250, at two, four, seven, eight and twelve channels; the CR106 is a two-channel, six-zone preamplifier and audio matrix; the MIP200 is a power controller. This is the hardware behind a rack build that feeds whole-house audio.
- Room correction. The MEN220 Room Correction System, which McIntosh says uses RoomPerfect and measures and corrects for up to eight listening positions, and the MQ112 Environmental Equalizer, an eight-band analog equalizer. Correction is the last step of our calibration work, not the first.
How we put McIntosh into a room
- The room and the speakers first. We choose the electronics against the speakers and the room, not the other way round. An amplifier that is more than the speakers can use, or less than they need, is a design mistake we would rather catch on paper.
- Weight, air and power. Large amplifiers are heavy and make heat. The shelf or rack, the airflow and the electrical circuit are settled with the builder and the electrician before the cabinetry is made.
- Cabling in the wall. Speaker cable gauge and run length, balanced connections where both ends have them, and a labelled path from the rack to every speaker. Our new-construction low-voltage scope is where this is cheapest to do.
- Levels, crossover and correction. Gain is set so no stage clips or hisses, the subwoofer is blended at the seats, and room correction is run last, on whatever the room still needs.
- Control and the record. Where a unit has a control input, we tie power and source selection into the room’s control system. Where its manual does not describe one, we say so on the proposal and plan a plain power procedure instead. The model list and settings go into your project record.
Where McIntosh sits beside the other lines we carry
McIntosh is one of several answers for the electronics, and the choice turns on where the equipment lives. NAD Electronics is the rack answer for a house that wants many zones from amplifiers that can disappear into a closet. Parasound fits when a theater needs separate power amplifiers behind a processor and the gear stays in a rack. For a dedicated theater where the processor and its room correction are their own decision, we also carry Trinnov. McIntosh is the choice when the electronics are part of how the room looks and the room is built around listening to them.
Common questions
Who installs McIntosh in Kansas City?
IntegrateIT (Overland Park, KS) carries and installs McIntosh across the Kansas City metro — listening rooms, theaters and whole-house audio racks in homes on both sides of the state line, from Leawood and Prairie Village to Mission Hills and out to Lee’s Summit. To be precise about the relationship, because the trade is sloppy about this word: McIntosh is a line we carry and install under distribution, not one we hold our own dealer agreement on, so we do not call ourselves an authorized McIntosh dealer. What we do is specify the equipment against the room, wire it, commission it and document it. Phone: (913) 804-7575 or office@integrateit.tech.
Can McIntosh equipment run a home theater as well as a stereo?
Yes. McIntosh lists home theater as its own category: the MX124 A/V Processor at 13.4 audio channels, the MX200 A/V Processor at 11.2 channels, and the MHT300 Home Theater Receiver at 7.2 channels, expandable to 7.2.4. Multichannel power amplifiers sit beside them: the three-, five- and seven-channel models in the MC range, and the MI347 seven-channel amplifier in the custom-install range. Which combination a room needs comes from the speaker layout, so we count the speakers first and choose the electronics second.
What is McIntosh’s Custom Install range for?
McIntosh describes it as products for home theater and multi-room distributed audio, and says the distribution amplifiers are rack mountable. The range on its site is the MI502, MI254, MI347, MI128 and MI1250 digital power amplifiers at two, four, seven, eight and twelve channels, the CR106 two-channel, six-zone preamplifier and audio matrix, and the MIP200 Power Controller. That is the equipment for a rack in a utility room or media closet that feeds ceiling speakers room by room, which is where a stereo-minded house and a whole-house audio system meet. We size the rack, the channel count and the zone plan together.
Does McIntosh make room correction?
It lists two products in that category. The MEN220 Room Correction System uses RoomPerfect and, per McIntosh, measures and corrects for up to eight listening positions, with custom EQ and a two-way adjustable crossover. The MQ112 Environmental Equalizer is an eight-band analog equalizer. Correction is a tool, not a repair for speakers in the wrong place, so we place the speakers and treat the room first and use correction on what is left.
Does a large amplifier need anything special in the room?
Space, air and a circuit sized to the load. Power amplifiers make heat, and a shelf or rack with no airflow shortens the life of whatever sits in it, so we plan the location, the ventilation and the circuit with the electrician before the cabinetry is built. McIntosh also lists the MIP200 Power Controller for protecting equipment against electrical problems, and we specify power conditioning where a site calls for it. The specific requirements for a unit come from its manual, which we read before the drawing is signed.
What happens after the install?
Every unit is labelled and its settings are recorded in your portal with the room plan and the model list. Levels are set at the listening seats, the subwoofer is blended where the room has one, and room correction is run if the system includes it. Our installation carries a five-year workmanship warranty from the final invoice.
