★Cost guide
How much does Control4 cost in Kansas City? (2026)
The cost of a Control4 system in Kansas City is decided by three things: home size (square footage and number of zones), quality tier (Essentials, Premium or Concierge — defined below), and whether the install is new construction or a retrofit into a finished home. The platform itself is not the cost driver; the count of integrated devices is. IntegrateIT is a Platinum-tier Control4 dealer based in Overland Park. We don't publish ranges, because two homes with the same square footage can be a different project; we give one fixed number in writing after a no-cost site walk.
Below: what each tier includes, the variables that move the number, and answers to the six questions every Kansas City buyer asks before signing a contract.
The three Control4 tiers (Kansas City, 2026)
| Tier | What it covers |
|---|---|
| Essentials | Lighting, audio and app control through the main rooms. |
| Premium | Whole-home automation, high-end equipment, concealed wiring. |
| Concierge | Reference equipment, hidden behind millwork, white-glove design. |
Every number we give is fixed and in writing, and it comes after a no-cost site walk.
What each tier actually includes
Essentials
8-zone lighting control + 4-zone audio + 2 keypads + remote app. Solid mainstream gear, professionally installed, clean finish.
Premium
Full whole-home automation: 16-32 lighting zones + multi-room audio + climate + shades + security integration. High-end equipment, custom carpentry, fully concealed wiring.
Concierge
No-compromise: the top of every category (Crestron-grade panels, Lutron HomeWorks, Sonance Invisible audio, custom millwork). White-glove design and a five-year workmanship warranty.
What moves the number within a range
- New construction vs retrofit. New-construction wiring costs far less than retrofitting into a finished home — we're running cable before drywall, not pulling it through finished walls.
- Equipment grade. The same room can use good in-wall speakers or architectural-grade ones. Same functional output; different acoustic ceiling.
- Concealment level. Concierge installs hide every piece of gear behind millwork, in-wall, or in a dedicated equipment room. That custom carpentry is a real line on its own.
- Network architecture. Control4 runs on top of your home network. A consumer-grade router won't hold up; an enterprise-grade network scales with access-point count and structured cabling.
- Integration breadth. Lutron HomeWorks lighting, motorized shades, HVAC integration, security panel integration — each layer adds to the scope.
Questions every Kansas City buyer asks
What does a basic Control4 system include for a 3,000 sqft Kansas City home?
An Essentials-tier system for a home that size typically includes 8-zone lighting control, 4-zone audio, two keypads and the Control4 app. What moves the number is whether existing wiring can be reused, the finishes (drywall vs plaster), and equipment selection. A no-cost site walk produces a fixed price.
What changes between Control4 Essentials, Premium and Concierge?
Equipment grade, level of concealment, custom carpentry, and design and commissioning hours. The same home is a different project at each tier, which is why we define the tier at the site walk rather than by a multiplier.
Does Control4 cost more in Kansas City than other metros?
Slightly less, in fact. Kansas City labor rates are lower than the coastal AV markets, and equipment cost is the same everywhere; labor is the variable.
How long does a Control4 install take in Kansas City?
For a typical 5,000 sqft Premium-tier project, design takes 1-2 weeks, build runs 4-6 weeks (longer if synced to ongoing construction), and commissioning and training take 1 week. Total: 6-9 weeks from contract signing to walk-through. Concierge-tier and retrofits into older homes can run 3-5 months.
Is Control4 worth the cost for a Kansas City home?
For owners who plan to stay a decade or more, yes — Control4 systems built to the Premium tier or above have run fifteen to twenty years. For a short stay or a single room, a simpler stack like Lutron Caseta with Sonos delivers most of the experience for much less.
