Kansas City, MO · Country Club District
Kansas City, Missouri · from the Country Club District to the towers downtown.
IntegrateIT is a home automation and AV integrator working the Missouri side of Kansas City: the Country Club District, Brookside, Ward Parkway, the downtown towers and the Northland, from the design center at 15108 Glenwood Ave, Overland Park, a short run southwest. Concealed retrofit through masonry and plaster, condo installs worked inside a building window, pre-wire on newer Northland construction. Control4 Platinum Dealer, Crestron Elite Partner, Lutron Certified Dealer, CEDIA member, HTA Certified. Five-year workmanship warranty. (913) 804-7575.
Kansas City, Missouri is really several housing markets wearing one name. The Country Club District south of the Plaza is masonry, plaster and original millwork, with owners who want the technology to disappear entirely; the towers closer to downtown are condo installs with a building window, an elevator reservation and no rough-in at all; the Northland is newer construction on larger lots. Our Overland Park design center is a short run southwest of most of it, so site walks and service calls are routine. What holds across all three is a preference for concealed work and honest planning.
Installing in Kansas City
What is different about Kansas City houses
Installing here is different because the older houses fight cable and win if you are careless. Plaster over lath, brick and block exterior walls, and framing that changes between the original house and its additions all mean routes get traced before anything is cut. We use closets, chases behind the stair and basement ceilings, and we accept wireless lighting control where a pull would cost more trim work than it returns. Anything opened is patched by people who patch for a living.
Condo and high-rise work runs on the building's terms, not ours. Approved work hours, an insurance certificate, a reserved freight elevator and rules about common areas all get arranged before install day, because a lost day inside a booked window is expensive for everyone. Inside the unit there is no rough-in opportunity, so lighting goes wireless, speakers go where the structure permits, and the rack is sized for a closet. Done properly, a tower residence ends up as capable as a house.
Northland neighborhoods flip the problem back to distance. Newer builds on larger lots need wired access points, outdoor-rated cameras and a network designed for the yard as well as the rooms, and when the house is still going up we place conduit while the ground is open. Across all three parts of the city, we would rather size a display to the room and hide the speakers than let the equipment announce itself, which is usually the reason owners here call us in the first place.

Questions from Kansas City homeowners
Who does home automation on the Missouri side of Kansas City?
- IntegrateIT does. We work the Missouri side continuously: the Country Club District, Brookside, Ward Parkway, Waldo, Briarcliff and the downtown towers, plus new construction in the Northland. Control4 Platinum Dealer, Crestron Elite Partner, Lutron Certified Dealer, CEDIA member and HTA Certified, based at 15108 Glenwood Ave in Overland Park, a short drive southwest. Site walks cost nothing, and installs carry a five-year workmanship warranty. Phone (913) 804-7575.
Can you conceal wiring in an old Country Club District house?
- Usually, and that is most of the craft here. We trace routes through closets, chases and basement ceilings before cutting anything, and where plaster would suffer we use wireless lighting control instead. Speakers can be finished behind drywall or set flush into ceilings so the room reads as it always did. Whatever we open gets patched to match, not merely covered.
My building has a work-hour window and a freight elevator. Can you work with that?
- That is standard for us downtown. Work hours, the insurance certificate, the elevator reservation and common-area protection get arranged before the crew is scheduled, and the install is planned to finish inside the approved window. Tell us your building's management contact early and we will deal with them directly instead of leaving it on your plate.
How far are you from the Plaza area?
- A short drive. The design center is in Overland Park, southwest of the Plaza, and it is open by appointment. Coming in is worth the time before decisions get final, since hearing speakers in a finished room settles things a specification sheet cannot. For the walk, we come to you and follow it with a written fixed-price proposal.
Can you take over a system another company installed?
- Yes. We adopt Control4, Crestron and Lutron systems whose original installer is gone. It starts with a visit to document what is actually there. Then we tell you what is worth keeping, what should be replaced and in what order.
