Hollywood · Broward beachfront
Hollywood · beachfront integration, built for the climate.
Between the ocean and the Intracoastal, Hollywood packs three different kinds of home into a narrow stretch of Broward County: oceanfront condo towers, mid-century houses in the older lakes neighborhoods, and inland properties toward Davie. Salt air, humidity and hurricane construction shape every one of them, which is why equipment placement here gets more thought than it does in Kansas. We take South Florida work on scheduled concierge trips, planned in concentrated blocks so a project moves at pace rather than in fragments. The design center stays in Overland Park, and the standard travels with the crew.
Installing in Hollywood
What is different about Hollywood houses
Installing here is different because the building often has more say than the homeowner. Oceanfront towers have work-hour windows, elevator reservations, insurance certificates and rules about what may pass through common areas, and none of that is negotiable on the day. We handle that paperwork before the trip so install days are spent working. Inside a unit there is usually no rough-in window at all, which pushes the design toward wireless lighting, surface-friendly speaker placement and a rack sized for a closet rather than a mechanical room.
Concrete block and poured slabs change how cable moves through a house. Exterior walls here are frequently masonry, interior partitions may be metal stud, and the ceiling is often the only honest path between rooms. We plan runs through soffits, dropped ceilings and existing conduit rather than assuming a wood-framed cavity. It also means anchoring displays and speakers takes the right hardware for the substrate. None of this is difficult if it is designed before the crew arrives, and expensive if it is not.
Climate is the other constant. Salt air and humidity are hard on connectors, outdoor speakers and anything sharing an unconditioned space, so equipment goes in a cooled, ventilated location and never in a garage that breathes the outside. Outdoors, we specify weather-rated audio built for coastal exposure and mount displays where shade and salt spray were considered first. Systems here also need to run unattended for stretches, so remote monitoring and cameras are part of the base design rather than an upsell.

Questions from Hollywood homeowners
You are based in Kansas. How does a Hollywood project actually work?
- We take South Florida work on scheduled concierge trips. Design, equipment procurement and programming happen ahead of time, then the crew arrives for a concentrated block of install days rather than drifting in and out over months. Daniel designs the system and walks the project. Once it is live, support is handled remotely where it can be, with the next trip covering anything that needs hands on site.
My building has strict rules about contractors. Is that a problem?
- It is routine. Association work hours, elevator reservations, insurance certificates and common-area protection all get arranged before the trip is booked, because a wasted install day is expensive when the crew has traveled. Tell us your building's management contact early and we will handle the approvals directly rather than leaving them with you.
Can you install in a condo with concrete walls and no room to open?
- Yes, that is the normal condition here. Wireless lighting control removes the need to open a switch wall, ceilings and soffits usually offer the path between rooms, and speakers get placed where the structure allows rather than where a diagram wishes. The rack is sized for a closet. The finished result looks deliberate, not improvised.
Will outdoor gear survive this close to the ocean?
- It will if it was chosen for the exposure. We use outdoor audio built for coastal conditions, mount displays with shade and salt spray in mind, and keep the electronics in conditioned, ventilated space rather than a hot garage. Every system carries our five-year workmanship warranty, the manufacturer warranty on the products, and our support for as long as you own it.
