Mosby · Clay County country
Mosby · simple, reliable automation for rural lots.
IntegrateIT is a home automation, networking and surveillance integrator serving Mosby, Missouri, a drive north and east of the design center at 15108 Glenwood Ave, Overland Park. Coverage here is measured in acres, and consumer mesh equipment does not reach: a cabled network extended to a detached barn and shop, gate cameras recorded on site, lighting and audio in the rooms a country house uses. Control4 Platinum Dealer, Crestron Elite Partner, Lutron Certified Dealer, CEDIA member, HTA Certified. Five-year workmanship warranty. (913) 804-7575.
Mosby is one of the smallest incorporated communities in Clay County, a handful of blocks in the Fishing River bottoms northeast of Kansas City with farmland in every direction. Housing runs to older frame homes on the original lots and newer builds on acreage out along the county roads, and there is nothing here that resembles a subdivision. Property lines, not floor plans, define what a system has to cover. It is a drive north and east of our Overland Park design center.
Installing in Mosby
What is different about Mosby houses
Installing here is different because coverage is measured in acres, not rooms. A Mosby property may have a house, a barn or shop, a long gravel drive and a gate at the road, and the owner reasonably expects the network and the cameras to reach all of it. Consumer mesh equipment does not, and repeaters only pass along a weak signal. We run outdoor-rated cable to the outbuildings, mount access points where the structures actually are, and design the drive as its own coverage zone.
Rural internet service is the second constraint. Speeds and reliability vary, sometimes seasonally, so the system is built to stand on its own network. Lighting, audio, climate and the control system run locally on the home hardware, camera recording happens on site rather than in somebody's cloud, and remote access is a convenience rather than a dependency. When service drops, the house behaves normally and catches up on its own.
Third, the brief here is usually simplicity. Country properties want a short list of things that never need attention: lighting that works from a keypad, audio in the rooms people actually sit in, cameras on the drive and outbuildings, and a network that covers the ground. We would rather install fewer subsystems and program them so plainly that nobody thinks about the system than sell a house full of features that go unused.

Questions from Mosby homeowners
Will you come out this far into Clay County?
- Yes. Mosby is within the area we serve from Overland Park, and rural properties are a normal part of the work rather than an exception. The site walk is at no cost, and it matters more here than in a subdivision because the distances between buildings decide the design. If a location is genuinely too far to serve well, we say so instead of taking it.
How do we get camera coverage down a long driveway?
- With cable and power planned to the camera positions, not with battery units on posts. We place cameras where a vehicle has to pass rather than trying to watch the whole property, record on site so the footage does not depend on an internet connection, and put the view into the same app as the rest of the house. Lighting on the drive helps the cameras as much as it helps you.
Our internet is unreliable. Is a control system still worth it?
- Yes, because the important parts run on your own hardware. Lighting scenes, audio, shades and keypads work whether or not the outside connection is up, and the cameras keep recording locally. What you lose during an outage is remote viewing and streaming. Designing it this way is the difference between an inconvenience and a house that stops working.
