Liberty · Clay County seat
Liberty · historic square to new developments.
IntegrateIT is a smart home and AV installer serving Liberty, Missouri, about forty-five minutes north of the design center at 15108 Glenwood Ave, Overland Park. The same city asks for two opposite approaches, so the house decides the method: wireless lighting and careful routing through existing chases near the square, a full pre-wire and whole-home control package on new subdivision builds, and in-ceiling audio with a documented basement rack. Control4 Platinum Dealer, Crestron Elite Partner, Lutron Certified Dealer, CEDIA member, HTA Certified. Five-year workmanship warranty. (913) 804-7575.
Two housing eras meet in Liberty, the Clay County seat north of the river. Around the historic square and William Jewell College you find brick and frame homes from the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, while the subdivisions spreading east and north are largely from the last three decades with full basements and modern framing. A project here is defined by which side of that line the house falls on. Liberty is about forty-five minutes north of our Overland Park design center.
Installing in Liberty
What is different about Liberty houses
Installing in Liberty is different because the same city asks for two opposite approaches. In an older home near the square, we are working with plaster, brick exteriors, additions from several decades and limited attic access, so the design leans on wireless lighting, careful routing through existing chases, and equipment placed where the house allows. In a nineties or newer subdivision, we can pull real cable through open framing and build a full rack in the basement. The site walk sorts that immediately.
Masonry exteriors on the older houses matter more than people expect. Solid brick means an outdoor camera, an access point under an eave or a speaker on the porch needs a planned penetration and a proper seal rather than an improvised hole. It also means outdoor coverage generally has to originate from a wired point rather than radiating out through the wall. We plan those penetrations on the walk so they happen once and are finished correctly.
The distance from our office shapes the design in newer homes too. Forty-five minutes each way means we favor equipment we can monitor and reset remotely, network gear that reports its own health, and documentation left with the homeowner that actually names what is in the rack. Systems designed that way get supported over the phone in an afternoon rather than waiting for the next available slot on a truck route.

A kitchen from 2002 is still a kitchen. An automation system from 2002 is in a landfill. That asymmetry is a design choice.

Questions from Liberty homeowners
Can a house from the eighteen or nineteen hundreds take a smart system?
- Yes, with a design that respects it. Older Liberty homes get wireless Lutron lighting so no new switch legs go behind plaster, careful cable routing through existing chases and basement joists, and hardware chosen to look at home on period trim. We open as little as possible and restore what we do open. Full lighting, audio and climate control is very achievable without a gut renovation.
How do outdoor cameras attach to a solid brick house?
- With a planned penetration and a proper seal, not an improvised one. We choose the mounting points on the site walk, drill once through the masonry in a location that gives the camera the view it needs, and seal the entry. Because signal does not pass through brick well, outdoor access points get wired the same way rather than relying on the indoor network to reach past the wall.
Is Liberty too far for you to service?
- No, though the drive changes how we build. Liberty is around forty-five minutes north of our Glenwood Avenue design center, and we work Clay County regularly. Systems here are designed for remote diagnosis, so issues are often closed without a truck. When someone does need to be on site we schedule it honestly rather than promising a window we cannot keep from Overland Park.
What is included after the install is finished?
- Calibration, on-site training and a full set of owner documentation at the handover, plus a five-year workmanship warranty that runs from the date of the final invoice closing the project, the manufacturer warranties that come with the products, and our support for as long as you own the system. In an older home we also leave a record of where cable actually runs, which is the document that saves the most time on any future work.
