Oak Grove · I-70 corridor
Oak Grove · new subdivisions and established homes both.
IntegrateIT is a home automation and AV integrator serving Oak Grove, Missouri, a straight drive east on I-70 from the design center at 15108 Glenwood Ave, Overland Park. Two eras sit side by side, so we price the wiring against the construction: pre-wire at framing on new builds, a theater retrofitted into a finished lower level, cabled network and cameras out to a shop. Control4 Platinum Dealer, Crestron Elite Partner, Lutron Certified Dealer, CEDIA member, HTA Certified. Five-year workmanship warranty. (913) 804-7575.
Oak Grove sits on the I-70 corridor at the eastern edge of Jackson County, far enough out that lots get larger and close enough that the commute into Kansas City still works. Its housing is genuinely mixed: older homes on the original grid, subdivisions built out over the past two decades, and acreage properties on the county roads beyond town. Most of the newer builds have a basement, finished or waiting. It is a straight drive east on I-70 from our Overland Park design center.
Installing in Oak Grove
What is different about Oak Grove houses
Installing here is different because two eras sit side by side. On the same day we may pre-wire a house that is still open framing and retrofit one built long before anyone planned for a network. The pre-wire is cheap and comprehensive; the retrofit is a routing exercise through basements, attics and closets. We price and schedule them differently, and we tell you clearly which one your house is before any equipment gets specified.
Basements are the strongest room in the Oak Grove housing stock. A newer build here almost always has a lower level with a flat ceiling, no windows to fight and enough depth for seating rows, which is exactly what a theater or a media room wants. If the space is unfinished, the rough-in is straightforward: speaker locations, projector power, conduit for a screen and a ventilated equipment spot. If it is already finished, we work through the ceiling and plan the patching.
Third, the lots stretch the network. Properties on the edge of town run to an acre and beyond, often with a detached garage or shop, and internet service can be less consistent than in the core metro. We build a cabled backbone out to the outbuildings rather than relying on wireless extenders, put cameras on the drive, and design the network so the house keeps working locally when the connection drops.

What a home theater really costs
A media room, a dedicated theater and a reference build are three different projects. What separates two identical basements is the room, not the equipment list.

Questions from Oak Grove homeowners
Is Oak Grove too far east for you?
- No. It is a normal drive out I-70 and it sits inside our Kansas City service area. The site walk is at no cost and does not commit you to anything. Once a system is in, remote monitoring and remote support often settle what comes up, so the distance matters far less after the install than people expect.
Our basement is already finished. Can we still put in a theater?
- Yes. A finished lower level means working through the ceiling and planning the drywall repair rather than pretending it will not be needed. We map the speaker layout, the projector or display position and the equipment location first, then cut only where the design requires. Acoustic treatment and seating layout matter more to the result than the size of the screen.
Our internet out here is not great. Does that ruin a smart home?
- It does not have to. Lighting, audio, shades and the control system run locally on the home network, so they keep working when the outside connection is slow or down. What suffers is streaming and remote access. We design the network to keep the local side solid and to recover cleanly when service comes back.
