Authorized Dealer
Definitive Technology · Kansas City.
IntegrateIT is an authorized Definitive Technology dealer across the Kansas City metro — the Dymension towers and center channel in a home theater, the in-wall and in-ceiling speakers that carry music through the rest of the house, a speaker from the Mythos line on the wall under a TV, and the Dymension Outdoor line on the patio. The dealer agreement is our own, and the exact models for your room are confirmed on your proposal. Beyond the paperwork, we are the people who lay out the speakers, run the cable, wire the room and calibrate it afterwards. Phone: (913) 804-7575 or office@integrateit.tech.
What we specify and install from Definitive Technology
The families below are the current ones on Definitive Technology’s own site, with its own model names and driver sizes. The catalogue is organised by location — floor, wall, ceiling, the wall under a TV, the patio — plus a subwoofer line. We specify and install to order.
- Dymension towers, centers and surrounds. Definitive Technology lists the Dymension DM80, DM70 and DM60 as bipolar towers with a 12-inch, 10-inch and 8-inch powered subwoofer, the slim DM40 tower, and the DM30, DM20 and DM10 center channels. The DM95 is a wall-mountable surround and the DM90 is a height module for the DM80 and DM70. These are the speakers we place in a dedicated theater or a large media room where floor-standing speakers fit the plan.
- The compact ProCinema line. Definitive Technology’s ProCinema series is its compact line, and its category pages list the ProMonitor 1000 as a 5.25-inch bookshelf speaker and the ProCenter 1000 as a 4-inch center channel. They are for a smaller room where a tower would crowd the seating.
- Subwoofers, the Descend line. The Descend DN8, DN10, DN12 and DN15, at 8, 10, 12 and 15 inches. We add one when a room needs more bass than the speakers carry, or when every speaker in it is cut into the wall and the bass has to come from somewhere else.
- Mythos on-wall. The Mythos 3C-65, 3C-75 and 3C-85 are ultra-slim passive sound bars for 65-, 75- and 85-inch class TVs, and the Mythos LCR-65, LCR-75 and LCR-85 are on-wall LCR speakers for the same sizes, under two inches deep. Passive, so a receiver or amplifier drives them; we plan that at the same time as the TV mount.
- Dymension CI MAX, in-wall and in-ceiling. Eight models: the LCR-525 MAX and LCR-650 MAX in-wall LCRs, the DW-45 MAX and DW-65 MAX in-wall speakers, the DW MAX SUR bipolar in-wall surround, the DC-65 MAX and DC-80 MAX in-ceiling speakers with pivoting woofers, and the DC-80 MAX SUR in-ceiling surround. This is the range for a theater where the speakers disappear into the walls.
- Dymension CI PRO, in-wall and in-ceiling. The DC-65 PRO and DC-80 PRO in the ceiling, the DW-65 PRO and DW-80 PRO in the wall, and the DC-65 PRO SI, a single in-ceiling speaker with a stereo input. The maker points this series at whole-home audio and light commercial use as well as theaters, which is how we use it for kitchens, bedrooms and hallways in whole-house audio.
- Dymension Outdoor. The AW-550 and AW-650 surface-mount speakers, the BL-550 bollard speaker, the BL-650 surface-mount speaker, the LS-400 landscape speaker, the LS 6.1 System of six 4-inch speakers and an 8-inch subwoofer, and the LS-80 and LS-100 subterranean landscape subwoofers. This is the line we draw from for outdoor audio.
How we put Definitive Technology speakers into a room
- The layout first, the model second. We mark where the front, surround and overhead speakers go, which positions are towers and which are in the wall, then choose the family. Choosing the speakers first is how rooms end up with a tower where the walls wanted an in-wall, or the reverse.
- Cable and power before drywall. In-wall and in-ceiling speakers need their cable, their back boxes and clear space between the studs before the walls close, and powered towers need an outlet where they will stand. All of it goes on the room drawing, in new construction or in a remodel.
- Calibration with the room finished. The speakers are set up and measured with the furniture in, at the seats people use, and checked by ear afterwards. For a dedicated room this is part of our home theater calibration work.
- One button, not five remotes. The receiver or amplifier goes under the control system with the display and the sources, so the room, or the whole house, turns on the same way every time.
Where Definitive Technology sits beside the other lines we carry
Definitive Technology comes up when the plan has floor-standing towers with powered subwoofers, a slim on-wall speaker for a wall that cannot take in-wall, or one maker’s catalogue running from the theater to the patio. We are an authorized dealer for Bowers & Wilkins as well, which we put forward when the listening room and a stereo pair are the point of the job, and for Polk Audio, the other speaker family we can lay the same plan against, so the two are compared on the drawing and the proposal names one. Passive speakers need an amplifier, and Denon receivers, which we are also authorized on, are chosen at the same time as the speakers.
Questions
Common questions
Is IntegrateIT an authorized Definitive Technology dealer?
Yes. IntegrateIT (Overland Park, KS) is an authorized Definitive Technology dealer across the Kansas City metro, on both sides of the state line — home theaters, media rooms, whole-house audio and patios. We decide where each speaker goes, specify the model against that layout, wire the walls and ceilings, mount and connect the speakers and calibrate the system with the furniture in place. We specify and install to order rather than selling boxes off a shelf, so the models on your proposal come off the room drawing. Phone: (913) 804-7575 or office@integrateit.tech.
Which Definitive Technology speakers go in a wall or a ceiling?
Definitive Technology’s custom-install range has three families. Dymension CI MAX is eight models: in-wall LCRs, in-wall speakers, a bipolar in-wall surround, and in-ceiling speakers with pivoting woofers, one of them a surround. Dymension CI PRO is five in-ceiling and in-wall models that the maker points at whole-home audio, home theaters and light commercial use. Mythos is the on-wall family, under two inches deep. We choose between them from the room drawing: which walls can take a speaker cavity, where the joists run, and whether the room is a theater or a hallway.
Do the Dymension towers need a separate subwoofer?
Definitive Technology lists the Dymension DM80, DM70 and DM60 as bipolar towers with a 12-inch, 10-inch and 8-inch powered subwoofer respectively, so each tower brings bass of its own; the DM40 is listed as a slim bipolar tower with no subwoofer size given. Whether the room still wants a Descend DN8, DN10, DN12 or DN15 subwoofer on top is decided when we measure the room, not on the order form. A powered speaker needs an outlet where it stands, so that goes on the drawing before the floors are finished.
Do you install a Definitive Technology soundbar?
Definitive Technology’s Mythos 3C-65, 3C-75 and 3C-85 are ultra-slim on-wall passive sound bars made for 65-inch, 75-inch and 85-inch class TVs. The Mythos LCR-65, LCR-75 and LCR-85 are on-wall LCR speakers for the same TV sizes. Passive means a receiver or amplifier drives them, so we plan the amplifier and the cable at the same time as the TV mount. A Mythos set suits a wall that is already finished, or a TV that cannot have speakers cut in beside it.
Which Definitive Technology speakers go outside?
Definitive Technology’s Dymension Outdoor models include the AW-550 and AW-650 surface-mount speakers, the BL-550 bollard speaker, the LS-400 landscape speaker, the LS 6.1 System of six 4-inch speakers and an 8-inch subwoofer, and the LS-80 and LS-100 subterranean landscape subwoofers. The maker describes the range as water resistant, and we read the rating for the exact model before it goes on a proposal. Where each one goes — under an eave, in a bed, on a post — comes from the patio drawing, with the cable route planned before anyone digs.
What happens after the install?
The system is calibrated in the room with the furniture in place, the settings are recorded in your portal, and the control system is programmed so one button turns the room on. Every install carries our five-year workmanship warranty from the final invoice.
