Authorized Dealer
Polk Audio · Kansas City.
IntegrateIT is an authorized Polk Audio dealer across the Kansas City metro — the tower, center and surround speakers for a media room, the height modules that add overhead sound for Dolby Atmos, the subwoofer under it all, and a sound bar where a full speaker layout is not the right call. The dealer account is our own, and the exact models for your room are confirmed on your proposal. Beyond the paperwork, we are the people who lay out the room, place the speakers, wire them, tie the system into the control system and calibrate it afterwards. Phone: (913) 804-7575 or office@integrateit.tech.
What we specify and install from Polk Audio
The ranges below are the current ones on Polk Audio’s own site, with Polk Audio’s own model names and channel counts. Its home speakers come in three series, and its sound bars are a separate range. We specify and install to order.
- Polk Monitor XT. The XT70 and XT60 towers, the XT20 bookshelf and XT15 compact bookshelf, the XT35 slim center and XT30 center, and the XT90 height module. The series also lists the XT10 powered 10-inch subwoofer and the XT12, a 12-inch.
- Polk Signature Elite. The ES60, ES55 and ES50 towers, the ES20 bookshelf and ES15 compact bookshelf, the ES35 slim center and ES30 center, the ES10 satellite and surround speaker that can mount on a wall, and the ES90 height module. Subwoofers are the ES8, ES10 and ES12, at 8, 10 and 12 inches. Polk Audio also lists a 5.2 home theater system and a 2.1 system with a Denon Home Amp in this series.
- Polk Reserve. The R700, R600 and R500 towers, the R200 bookshelf and R100 compact bookshelf, the R400, R350 slim and R300 center channels, and the R900 height module. The Reserve page lists speakers only, so a Reserve room takes its subwoofer from another range.
- Height modules. One in each series: the R900, ES90 and XT90. Polk Audio describes them as speakers that mount or sit on top of compatible speakers to add overhead sound for Dolby Atmos and DTS:X. They are one way to get overhead sound into a Dolby Atmos home theater without opening the ceiling.
- Subwoofers. Alongside the series models above, Polk Audio lists the PSW 10, a powered 10-inch subwoofer. Where the subwoofer goes is decided by measuring the room, not by the corner it happens to fit in.
- Polk Signa and Polk MagniFi sound bars. The Signa S2, S3 and S4, the S4 being a Dolby Atmos bar at 3.1.2, and the MagniFi Mini AX, MagniFi Max AX at 5.1.2 and MagniFi Max AX SR at 7.1.2. Polk Audio also lists the SR2 Wireless Surrounds for select sound bars. These are for the rooms where a TV and a bar are all the room needs.
How we put Polk Audio speakers into a room
- Layout first, series second. We place the front, center, surround and overhead positions for the room, count the subwoofers, then choose the series and the sizes. Choosing the speakers off a shelf first is how a room ends up with a center channel that does not fit under the screen.
- One series across the front. The left, center and right speakers come from the same series, so a voice moving across the screen does not change character on the way. This is part of our home theater and media room work.
- Mounts and wire before drywall. Where a surround speaker mounts, where the center channel sits against the display, and where each cable runs back to the rack are settled while the walls are open. On a new build that belongs in the low-voltage package.
- Calibration with the room finished. Levels, distances and room correction are set with the furniture in, at the seats people use, and checked by ear afterwards. See home theater calibration.
- One button, not five remotes. The receiver, the display and the sources go under the control system, so the room turns on the same way every time.
Where Polk Audio sits beside the other lines we carry
The Polk Audio lines above are freestanding speakers, subwoofers and sound bars. When a room needs speakers built into the wall or ceiling, or freestanding speakers from a different range, read Bowers & Wilkins, whose page covers its in-wall and in-ceiling ranges as well. We also install Definitive Technology, and compare the two against the same room drawing when a client is deciding between them. Something has to drive the speakers: we are an authorized dealer for both Denon, which comes up when the channel count is high or the job includes HEOS through the house, and Marantz, which comes up when the room wants separates.
Questions
Common questions
Is IntegrateIT an authorized Polk Audio dealer?
Yes. IntegrateIT (Overland Park, KS) is an authorized Polk Audio dealer across the Kansas City metro, on both sides of the state line — home theaters, media rooms, family rooms and bedrooms. We decide the speaker layout, choose the series and models against it, place and mount the speakers, wire the room, run the room calibration and tie the system into the control system so it is not the fifth remote on the table. We specify and install to order rather than selling boxes off a shelf, so the models on your proposal come off the room drawing. Phone: (913) 804-7575 or office@integrateit.tech.
Which Polk series fits my room?
Polk Audio sells its home speakers in three series — Monitor XT, Signature Elite and Reserve. Each lists tower and bookshelf speakers, center channels and height modules, so any of the three can fill the front, center, surround and overhead positions of a room. Monitor XT and Signature Elite also list subwoofers; the Reserve page lists speakers only, so a Reserve room takes its subwoofer from another range. The room decides the layout, and the series is then a choice of speaker size and budget. When the choice is close we put the same layout into two series on the proposal and show the difference.
Can Polk speakers do Dolby Atmos?
Yes. Polk Audio lists a height module in each series — the Reserve R900, the Signature Elite ES90 and the Monitor XT90 — and describes them as speakers that mount or sit on top of compatible speakers to add overhead sound for Dolby Atmos and DTS:X. That suits a room where the ceiling will not be cut open. Where the ceiling can take speakers, we weigh in-ceiling speakers from another line against the height modules, because that choice depends on the ceiling and the seats, not on the series name. The receiver has to drive the overhead channels too, so we count them into the channel total first.
Should I choose a Polk sound bar or separate speakers?
It depends on the room more than the brand. Polk Audio lists the Signa S2, S3 and S4, the S4 being a Dolby Atmos bar at 3.1.2, and the MagniFi Mini AX, MagniFi Max AX at 5.1.2 and MagniFi Max AX SR at 7.1.2. A sound bar suits a bedroom, a small family room or a wall-mounted TV with nowhere to run speaker wire. A room where people sit in a row and the sound is part of the evening wants separate speakers, a receiver and a subwoofer. We say which we would choose after seeing the room, and we install a sound bar with the same care as a speaker system, including the cabling behind the TV.
What receiver do you pair with Polk speakers?
The one the room’s layout needs, which is why we choose speakers first. A Denon or Marantz AV receiver — we are an authorized dealer for both — drives a surround layout. A room with one pair of Polk Audio bookshelf or tower speakers and no surround can run from a stereo amplifier or a HEOS amplifier instead. Polk Audio itself lists a Signature Elite 2.1 system with a Denon Home Amp. We check the receiver’s channel count and the speakers’ ratings against each other before anything is ordered.
What happens after the install?
The speaker levels and distances are set with the room finished, the calibration is run at the seats people actually use, the settings are recorded in your portal, and the control system is programmed so one button turns the room on. Every install carries our five-year workmanship warranty from the final invoice.
