Eudora · K-10 corridor

Eudora · new developments on the Lawrence-KC line.

IntegrateIT is a home automation, networking and AV integrator serving Eudora, Kansas, about thirty-five minutes west of the design center at 15108 Glenwood Ave, Overland Park. Working from home is common here, which changes what people ask for: a surveyed wired network rather than another router, structured cabling and pre-wire on the newer subdivisions, retrofit lighting in the older center, and coverage carried out across acreage lots. Control4 Platinum Dealer, Crestron Elite Partner, Lutron Certified Dealer, CEDIA member, HTA Certified. Five-year workmanship warranty. (913) 804-7575.

Halfway between Lawrence and the Johnson County line, Eudora sits on the K-10 corridor in Douglas County and has grown from a small river town into a commuter community. The result is a split housing stock: modest older homes near the original center, several waves of newer subdivisions on the edges, and acreage properties on the county roads around them. Working from home is common here, which changes what people ask us for. Our Overland Park design center is about thirty-five minutes east.

Installing in Eudora

What is different about Eudora houses

Installing in Eudora is different because the network is usually the reason people call. This is a commuter and work-from-home town, so a video call that drops or an office at the back of the house with no signal is a daily problem rather than an annoyance. We design around that first: hardwired access points placed for the floor plan, a dedicated run to the home office, and separate lanes so a house full of streaming devices does not sit on top of the connection someone works on.

New subdivision construction gives us the pre-wire window, and it is short. Between framing and insulation, speaker runs, conduit to the attic, an equipment closet and power for the rack cost almost nothing to place. After drywall the same result requires opening walls. Because builders here work quickly, the useful conversation happens weeks before most homeowners think to have it, and getting into that schedule is worth more than any equipment choice made later.

The older homes near the center of town ask for the opposite skill set. Shallow walls, small closets, panels with few spare circuits and switch boxes without neutrals steer the design toward wireless lighting and short, purposeful cable paths through basements and attics. A modest system done properly, real lighting control and clean audio in the rooms that get used, serves those houses far better than trying to force a suburban rack into them.

Questions from Eudora homeowners

My video calls drop from the back of the house. Can you fix that?

Almost always, and usually without changing internet providers. The cause is normally coverage and congestion rather than speed. We run cable to the office, put a real access point where the coverage has to land, and separate work traffic from the streaming and smart devices sharing the house. If a wired connection to the desk is possible, we run one, because nothing beats a cable for a call that cannot drop.

How early should I call about a new Eudora build?

Before insulation at the latest, ideally before framing. That window is when speaker runs, conduit, an equipment closet and rack power are just cable and a reserved space. Once drywall is up, the same capability costs more and shows more. We will review a builder's low-voltage package at no cost and tell you what it covers and what it leaves out before you commit.

Do you work on older houses in town, or only new construction?

Both. Older Eudora homes usually get wireless Lutron lighting because the switch boxes lack neutrals, with cable routed through the basement and attic where those exist. We keep the system to what the house can support well rather than forcing a large rack into a small utility space. A tight, well-executed system in an older home ages better than an oversized one squeezed in.

Is Eudora inside your normal service area?

Yes. It is roughly thirty-five minutes west of our showroom and design center on Glenwood Avenue in south Overland Park, along the K-10 corridor we travel regularly. Site walks are no cost and Daniel walks the project himself. We support systems we install for as long as you own the home, and we take over systems left behind by other integrators.
