Lenexa · City Center new builds to Old Town retrofits.
IntegrateIT is a home automation, AV and low-voltage integrator serving Lenexa, Kansas, minutes from the design center at 15108 Glenwood Ave, Overland Park — close enough to be at a framing walk in the morning and a service call after lunch. City Center builders move on tight schedules, so we work the window between framing and insulation: builder pre-wire, lighting with automated shades, a lower-level theater. Control4 Platinum Dealer, Crestron Elite Partner, Lutron Certified Dealer, CEDIA member, HTA Certified. Five-year workmanship warranty. (913) 804-7575.
Two Lenexas exist in the same Johnson County city. Old Town holds the original grid along the railroad, with small prewar and midcentury houses on compact lots, while City Center and the newer neighborhoods west toward K-7 are recent construction on wide lots with unfinished lower levels and open framing. A large industrial and warehouse belt sits between them and shapes the commercial side of our work here. Our design center on Glenwood Avenue in Overland Park is minutes away, close enough that we can be at a Lenexa framing walk in the morning and back at a service call after lunch.
Installing in Lenexa
What is different about Lenexa houses
Installing in Lenexa is different because the new-build half of the city rewards early involvement more than almost anywhere in the metro. Builders in City Center and the western developments move on tight schedules, and the window between framing and insulation is when structured cabling to every display, keypad, speaker and access-point location costs the least. We coordinate as the single low-voltage trade, work off the electrical plan rather than around it, and leave conduit for what an owner will want later. Missing that window multiplies the same scope several times over.
Old Town works the other way. Those houses are small, older and short on chase space, with plaster or early drywall and shallow attics, so lighting starts wireless and audio comes through ceilings and closets rather than through walls. The good news is that compact houses need fewer access points and less cable to cover well. We keep the visible layer minimal, match keypad finishes to the existing hardware, and put the rack somewhere it can breathe, which in these houses usually means the basement rather than a closet.
New Lenexa lower levels are the standing opportunity. A framed, unfinished basement is the least expensive theater or golf simulator a household will build, because ceiling height, power, cable and structure can all be settled while the walls are open. Swing clearance in particular is a measurement, not a hope, and it is far easier to answer during construction. Even when the room is years away, cabling it now costs very little and keeps the option alive without opening finished drywall later.

Questions from Lenexa homeowners
Our Lenexa builder is about to frame. How does that work with you?
- We come in as the single low-voltage trade and cable the house before insulation. That covers structured wiring, audio and video runs, alarm rough-in and the lighting feed, coordinated with your builder and electrician so nobody is working over anyone. It is the cheapest hour in the project and it decides what the house can do for the next decade. We leave documentation with the owner.
Can an Old Town house get the same system as a new one?
- Close to it, by a different route. Wireless Lutron lighting handles rooms where there is no neutral at the switch, audio travels through ceilings and closets, and a small compact rack goes in the basement where it can breathe. Older Lenexa houses are compact enough that full coverage takes fewer access points than a large new build. We tell you on the walk which rooms are easy.
Is a golf simulator possible in my unfinished basement?
- That depends on three measurements: ceiling height, room depth and side clearance for the swing. We take them on the walk before anything is proposed. If the room works, building it during construction is far cheaper than retrofitting, because the screen, projection, power and cabling can all be planned into open framing rather than added to finished drywall.
How fast can you get to Lenexa for service?
- Very quickly. Our design center is in Overland Park, minutes from most of Lenexa, so service visits are scheduled rather than routed. Our own crew does the work. Every system we install carries a five-year workmanship warranty, the manufacturer warranty on the products, and our support for as long as you own the system.
