Why the house you have changes the answer

North of I-435, in the older Overland Park stock, the constraint is usually routing rather than distance. The footprints are moderate, but the interior walls are interrupted, the closets are small and the furnace room is crowded. Wireless coverage outdoors is not a bonus radio pointed out a window; it is an outdoor-rated access point under an eave, on cable, aimed at where people actually sit. Planning that before the hardscape goes in is the difference between pulling a wire and trenching through a finished patio.

What we do not promise

A home network cannot make a slow internet service fast. If the line into the house is the constraint, more access points and a better switch will make the house behave predictably but will not add bandwidth, and we would rather say that on the walk than sell hardware against it. What a proper network does fix is the part most people actually experience as slowness: a device that will not hold a connection, a call that drops crossing the house, a camera stream that stutters while someone streams a film.

We also cannot make a wireless design out of a house that needs cable. Overland Park has homes where the honest answer is that the far room needs a wire and there is no route to it without opening a ceiling. Sometimes the right call is to open it. Sometimes it is to accept that the room gets adequate coverage rather than excellent coverage, and to spend the money where the family actually is. That is a conversation, not a specification sheet.

Planning it before hardscape and irrigation go in is far cheaper than trenching through a finished patio afterwards.

Do you work with the builder on a new Overland Park home?
